It’s Ash Wednesday, the beginning of our Lenten season! Episcopal parishes across our region will be holding Ash Wednesday services today. We encourage our ECM students and any other students interested in this Christian tradition to participate in receiving ashes to mark the beginning of this penitential season of reflection and preparation for Easter. Please keep those who suffer in your prayers, especially those suffering from the pain of war in Ukraine.

ECM tonight at 6pm at Christ Episcopal Church Parish Hall. We are finishing the movie “The Hate You Give” as we continue our discussion about the African American experience and how Christ calls us to respond to injustice as Christians. We will have food and other snacks as always! Come for learning, fellowship and prayer. All are welcome at our table!

ECM Springfield, with the support of the Episcopal Churches in Springfield, will host a Blessing of the Animals service on Saturday, October 2, from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. We invite you and your family to join us on the church lawn to have your animal companions blessed.

The Blessing of the Animals is in commemoration of Francis of Assisi, a 13th century friar, and mystic who is venerated by churches worldwide for his love of animals and the natural environment. The service will include special prayers to give thanks for all of God’s creatures in the world, especially those animal companions who enrich our daily lives.

Reminder: Our first ECM meeting begins tonight at 6pm at the Christ Episcopal Church parish hall (601 E Walnut St). Food and beverages will be provided. Because we are still abiding by COVID safety guidelines, we will be social distancing and masking when we aren’t eating. If you don’t have a mask, no worries, we got you! See you tonight!

Happy Labor Day Weekend! We will be kicking off our new ECM year this upcoming Tuesday at 6pm at the Christ Episcopal Church Parish Hall located at 601 E Walnut Street. We’ll have food, get an opportunity to introduce ourselves, and have some fun! If you have questions, feel free to drop them in the comments or dm the ECM page.
