Walgreens on Clearlake will be giving flu shots at Kumler Outreach Ministries Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026 from 9 a.m. to noon. Please bring proof of insurance. If you don't have insurance, a voucher will be provided to cover the flu shot. Thank you to Walgreens for providing this service!

Kumler Outreach Ministries will close each afternoon the week of Aug. 31, 2026 due to the excessive heat. The food pantry will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, as usual, and anyone needing prescription assistance can get help from 9 a.m. to noon, also. The high school campers of Your Obedient Servants Mission camp (Petersburg United Methodist Church - Illinois) wrapped up their week working two mornings in the The Enos Park Neighborhood Garden. They mulched the personal plots one morning and weeded, weeded, and weeded some more the second morning. Thank you for all your hard work, particularly in the heat and humidity!

It's Your Obedient Servants Mission Camp (Petersburg United Methodist Church - Illinois) high school week, and the campers went right to work sizing homecoming and prom wear in BB Boutique. The free homecoming and prom rental boutique is housed at Kumler United Methodist Church, and is available to students throughout the Springfield area. The campers also made putting together baby layettes easier by removing tags from new baby clothing. The layettes help families get their newborns off to a great start. Thank you high school campers for your hard work and willingness to serve!

Another great work day with another great crew from the Your Obedient Servants Mission camp (Petersburg United Methodist Church - Illinois). Crew 1 junior high campers helped unload our weekly delivery from the Central Illinois Foodbank, trayed up food, cleaned, sorted books, and put together mailing boxes for the United Media Resource Center housed at Kumler Outreach Ministries. Thank you for your willingness to serve and your enthusiasm. It's contagious!

We weren't dancin' in the streets, but close to them, thanks to the Your Obedient Servants Mission (Petersburg United Methodist Church - Illinois) junior high campers. Along with dancing, there was good music, great food and lots of smiles all around at the annual cookout held at Kumler United Methodist Church. The campers were great hosts, making sure everyone had fun and no one went home hungry. What a great evening!

A big thank you to Crew 4 for traying up lots of food, organizing pallets, and breaking down cardboard. These junior high campers have hearts for service and bring lots of enthusiasm and joy to their work!

We're so grateful for all the work done by the Pike County Christians during their mission trip to Springfield. The youth and adult leaders worked at The Enos Park Neighborhood Garden, cleaned and organized rooms at Kumler United Methodist Church, helped set up for The Village Cares' sickle cell education and awareness event, and sorted books and baby items for Kumler Outreach Ministries. Pike County Christians is comprised of youth from the United Parish of the United Methodist Church and Bright Star Parish of the United Methodist Church.
