In Mark 10:13-16, parents are bringing their children to Jesus to be blessed. But the disciples scolded them. Because the lack of societal regard for children during this time, the disciples assumed Jesus had more important things to do.

But this isn’t how Jesus treated the children. Jesus loves the children so much he wants all of us to approach him like a child. He wants us to be full of curiosity and questions, learning about him, and just wanting to be close to him. This is what it means to have a child-like faith and why Jesus gave great attention to the children brought to him.

What an awesome morning we shared together in worship! It was so amazing to witness Seth and Sarah Allen dedicate their son, Charlie Dale, to the Lord! We are very proud of this family and how they are committing to raise RJ, Kimber, and Charlie Dale to know and love Jesus. Thank you church for your commitment to pray, support, and encourage this family. 🙏🙌

1 Samuel 1:27-28: "For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him. Therefore I have lent him to the Lord. As long as he lives, he is lent to the Lord."

Psalm 127:3: "Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him."

Every relationship has its own problems. If your marriage is currently struggling, we urge you to take a look at your heart conditions - individually and as a couple. You must be honest about where you’re at in order to make progress. If you have a hard heart, God can soften it. Don’t make permanent decisions on today’s feelings. Take the time to let God work in you and your spouse.

Ask yourself if you’ve truly sought the Lord, wisdom, and invited accountability. If you’re facing disagreements, communication issues, disappointments talk to God. Don’t pretend like there aren’t any problems; be honest. This is where breakthrough can happen.

We long for others to get better, pray for our spouse to get better. It’s always easy to see other’s issues. But can we see our own? We have to be humble enough to look at the other and say we’re the problem.

When we make the marriage vow, we also make the vow to God to hold fast to each other. So it’s not just looking at each other but looking to God and being honest that we’re the issue.

Our troubles start with a hard heart. But there’s hope with God that our hearts can soften. The hope of the gospel is that we can change when God gets involved. But we have to ask ourselves, “do I want to get better?”

In Mark 10:1-12, Jesus is asked about divorce. And while there is a stigma that comes with being divorced, we want you to know that doesn’t have to be your identity. In Christ, you can be made new. It takes time and work, but God can transform your heart.

God is not holding it against you or defining you by past sins. If you choose Christ, you can accept his forgiveness and walk in his grace.

If you would like to hear more, listen to our Sunday sermon, “Heart Surgery”, on our page or YouTube.

This Sunday we continue in our series studying the Gospel of Mark. Pastor Jake will be sharing a message titled, ”Heart Surgery” on Mark 10:1-12. Jesus was asked a difficult question about divorce, but His answer went deeper than the question. He revealed that behind many broken relationships is a heart that has grown hard and that God’s grace is able to soften, heal, and transform what we cannot fix ourselves. Whether you’re married, divorced, single, or struggling in a relationship, this message will speak to every heart in the room.
Join us this Sunday as we look at the condition of our hearts.

We’re not preaching about hell to scare people but out of love. We’re magnifying Christ and the need for his rescue. Sharing the Gospel - sin & grace, love & wrath - is so big because it’s the one decision that determines someone’s eternity.

It’s not about guilt but preparation. There’s an urgency to sharing and receiving the Gospel. It’s not something to continue to put off when eternity is on the line. Don’t let pride and ego get in the way of the most important decision.

In Mark 9:43-47, Jesus told his disciples that if their hands, feet, or eyes cause them to sin, it would be better to cut them off than go to hell. This is a holy warning to them, and to us. A warning to take our sin seriously.

Jesus is talking in hyperbole here. It’s not about actually cutting off our hands or feet, it’s about cutting out the things that are causing us to sin. What are we doing, where are we going, what are we looking at that is leading us to sin?

We have to be intentional about resisting sin. If we’re not, it will lead to hurting ourselves and others. Because sin doesn’t only affect us, it affects those we’re around also. And Jesus is calling us to lead others to righteousness, not to sin.

03/04/2026

In Mark 9:42-50, Jesus warns his disciples about sin and hell. It’s a reminder to us of the reality of hell. It’s a scary place because God will never be there. God is all that is good, pure, light - hell cannot be any of these things without God.

That’s why we must share the full picture of the Gospel and who God is. We cannot fully grasp salvation without understanding what we’re saved from and for. We’re saved from sin and hell. And we’re saved for the kingdom, to bring glory to God.

When the Gospel is shared with someone and they reject it, they’ve made a decision that will impact them not just today but forever. There’s no second chances once we die. Hell is eternal for the person who has not accepted Jesus’ atonement for their sins. But for those who have accepted Jesus’ grace, they will join him in heaven for eternity.
