Tomorrow we celebrate Pentecost. Please join us for service at 9:30. Our bell choir will be offering “Canticle of Joy” by Jody S. Acker. This piece was written as a canon, where one musical line echoes another, the piece unfolds like birds calling across a quiet morning, each voice answering and lifting the next, we’ve paired today’s post with an artful rendition of a bird as a reminder of creation’s own joyful music.

This is the second Sunday of the month and when we make our Cornucopia offering. The service committee asks that you bring non-perishable items to lesson hunger in Clark County. A care bag will contain enough food for a simple meal that doesn’t require heating or refrigeration. We hope to send any unsheltered people who visit First Lutheran off with a back. Members of the congregation are welcome to keep a bag or two in your car to give to the hungry you encounter.
