On September 1, 2026, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church’s very own Mr. Don Pettford was one of 189 military veterans who participated in the Angel Flight from Springfield to Washington, D.C.

The Angel Flight honors retired military veterans by giving them the opportunity to visit our nation’s capital and the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice.

Don proudly served in the United States Army as a Specialist 4 (SPC 4) in Germany. 🪖🇺🇸

Today, we honor Don and all of our veterans for their courage, dedication, and sacrifice in serving our country.

Thank you for your service, Don! We are proud to call you one of our own! ❤️🤍💙

For 131 years, God has faithfully blessed Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. We are grateful for every generation that has worshiped, served, and helped carry the vision forward.

Our congregation was founded by 10 members who left Zion Baptist Church because they desired a place of worship closer to their neighborhood.
