Have there been times when you felt lonely, abandoned, or even forsaken, and turned to the Bible for comfort?
Have you ever been in a situation where you felt a strong need for guidance and again, turned to the Bible for help?
Or maybe there have been times when you felt joy and gratitude and just wanted to give thanks to God and read some passages that expressed what you were feeling.
If you are like many others, there's a good chance you turned to the book of Psalms.
Psalms is one the most loved books of the Bible and for those who are familiar with it, you already know how rewarding it can be. It is filled with songs, prayers and poetry that lift us up in times of trouble. They give us hope, encouragement, and comfort. They also help us in our understanding of God and inspire us to worship Him with deeper devotion.
Psalms is unique in that it transcends time and culture with its vivid imagery and emotional language that relate the human experience perfectly. This is part of what makes it so endearing and is likely why it has become the most read book of the Bible.
With this in mind, we invite you to a small group study of this amazing book.
We will meet each Thursday beginning April 11. But if you’re not able to attend on the 11th, or you don’t see this post till sometime later, it’s not too late to join seeing that each psalm is a lesson in itself.
