Have there been times when you felt lonely, abandoned, or even forsaken, and turned to the Bible for comfort?

Have you ever been in a situation where you felt a strong need for guidance and again, turned to the Bible for help?

Or maybe there have been times when you felt joy and gratitude and just wanted to give thanks to God and read some passages that expressed what you were feeling.

If you are like many others, there's a good chance you turned to the book of Psalms.

Psalms is one the most loved books of the Bible and for those who are familiar with it, you already know how rewarding it can be. It is filled with songs, prayers and poetry that lift us up in times of trouble. They give us hope, encouragement, and comfort. They also help us in our understanding of God and inspire us to worship Him with deeper devotion.

Psalms is unique in that it transcends time and culture with its vivid imagery and emotional language that relate the human experience perfectly. This is part of what makes it so endearing and is likely why it has become the most read book of the Bible.

With this in mind, we invite you to a small group study of this amazing book.

We will meet each Thursday beginning April 11. But if you’re not able to attend on the 11th, or you don’t see this post till sometime later, it’s not too late to join seeing that each psalm is a lesson in itself.

We're looking forward to this study and we hope very much that you can be part of it.

When? Thursday evenings 7:00 – 8:00pm.

Where? 1939 S. Pasfield, Springfield, IL 62704.

How to Join? Just drop in. Feel free to bring family and friends with you. A class will be provided for smaller children.

There’s no fee. Just bring you Bible, your questions, and your hunger for truth. (Bibles will be provided for those who need one)

We invite you to join us this Sunday, February 11, at 10:30 a.m. for a special sermon titled "Is the Rapture Biblical?"

In this lesson, we will explore the origins of the popular belief that Christ will return to sn**ch away His faithful followers before a final tribulation. We will look into passages often used to support this doctrine while considering their meaning in light of others that speak of Christ’s return and the events that will surround it. We will answer the crucial question, “Does the Bible teach a secret rapture, or is it a modern addition from men?”

Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the biblical foundations concerning the rapture doctrine. Feel free to share this post and invite others to join us.

A STUDY OF THE LIFE AND MINISTRY OF JESUS
Do you want to know more about Jesus? To draw near and share a closer relationship with Him? Are you interested in a small group study that can help you do this very thing?

Sunday afternoon we will begin a study of the book of Mark which will help us learn more about Jesus, increase our faith in Him, develop a deeper appreciation, greater commitment, and stronger love for Him.

We will begin with a brief discussion of the background and purpose of Mark’s writing, then cover chapter one which reveals the launch of Jesus’ ministry and introduces the nature of His ministry.

The setting will be informal yet orderly. Questions and comments will be welcomed and encouraged, but you will not be called on or embarrassed in anyway. After the study, we will have a small meal for all who wish to participate. There will be no charge at any time throughout the series.

Make plans now to attend.
