October has been a month of connection across every generation with our Men's Event, Kids' Fall Fest, and Kingdom First Missions Conference! We've been challenged by the Word of God, enjoyed fun, friends, and beautiful weather, and heard incredible stories of how God is growing His Kingdom through the commitment and generosity of our people and mission partners – local, national, and to the nations.

Encouraging a missions mindset in our kids.

Seventeen months ago, Christian Didier stepped into the first-ever cohort of The Residency at Second. Last Sunday, along with his wife, Katelyn, Christian took his next step at South Gate Baptist Church to become their Worship Minister! We couldn't be more grateful to celebrate with them and what The Residency is all about.

Here's what Christian shared about his time at Second:

"It has been a privilege to be part of the Residency at Second Baptist. Over the last fourteen months I have learned more than I ever anticipated, and I'm incredibly grateful for how much I've grown from this experience. I have been challenged by ideas, stretched by my responsibilities, and learned through opportunities to serve in every area of the church. It is so encouraging how intentionally the staff has invested in me, by giving me opportunities to lead, make mistakes, receive feedback, and grow in a healthy environment. If someone is considering the Residency, I would tell them it's much more than gaining ministry experience. It's an opportunity to be discipled, challenged, and equipped for long-term faithfulness in ministry. I'm incredibly thankful for my time here and know it has prepared me well for what's next."

Free, family-friendly, and open to all — no church background required. Fall Fest is THIS Thursday night, October 8 from 5-7PM on our East Parking Lot. Bring the kids for giant inflatables, a petting zoo, yard games, trunk-or-treat, hayrides, face painting, and photo booths, plus popcorn and hot chocolate to keep you warm. Costume or no costume, come as you are!
