South Street Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Sunday School classes for all ages on Sundays at 9:15 am
Sunday Worship at 10:15 am As recipients of God's gracious love, we accept others unconditionally.

We are a progressive, Open and Affirming Christian community located in the heart of downtown Springfield. In our worship, in our studies, in our fellowship, and in our service to humankind, we strive to offer God's inclusive love to everyone. We worship in a circular sanctuary and strive to be a circle of love in the city. Please join us for church school and worship on Sunday mornings and feel free to contact us if you'd like to know more about our congregation.

This year's Lenten Study Groups dove into When We Walk By: Forgotten Humanity, Broken Systems, and the Role We Can Each Play in Ending Homelessness in America — and it moved people. When the three groups came together for the first time on May 3, there was so much they wanted to share that they decided to do something about it.

So on May 31, they're leading worship.

You'll hear directly from your fellow church members about what they learned, how they were challenged, and how their faith — and their hearts — grew through this process. It's one thing to read about homelessness. It's another to watch your neighbors be transformed by it.

Whether you were part of the study or not, this service is for you. Come ready to listen, reflect, and be inspired. 🙏

Spring is a season of new beginnings — and something new is definitely growing here at SSCC! 🌱

Sunday, May 31 we're gathering again for our All-Committees Lunch & Meeting — and we'd love for you to join us!

Here's the deal: after service we share a meal together (free will offering to cover costs), then we break into our three committees — Fellowship, Spiritual Life, and Outreach. You pick whichever one sounds interesting to you! After an hour we come back together for a quick 15-minute recap.

Over 30 of our members have already been part of this, and honestly? These meetings have been a blast. Lots of great conversation, fresh ideas, and real community happening.

Never been? No worries — zero experience needed. Just come curious and ready to connect. This is your invitation to be part of something new. 😊
