From July 29–August 2, the Knights of Columbus and volunteers from St. Joseph will once again bring one of our favorite fair traditions to life—serving up the fair classics people wait all year for: burgers, fries, chicken tenders, Philly cheesesteaks, and plenty of friendly hospitality. To keep the tradition going, we’re looking for volunteers to jump in and help make this year another great success. No experience required—just bring your smile and maybe a friend!

Whether you can spare one shift or several, every helping hand keeps the booth running and supports our parish community. Grab a friend, claim your shift, and make this year’s fair one to remember—because fair food tastes better when served together!

As another option, if you prefer, you may attend one of the all-parish receptions after Masses on July 19th if that is best for you. 🎓 Sunday Senior Spotlight

Congratulations to Elijah Turco, recipient of a $1,000 Knights of Columbus Scholarship.

Elijah, the son of Jim and Lara Turco of Springfield, graduated from Platteview High School in May. During his time at Platteview, Elijah was a four-year member of the trapshooting team and three-year member of the National Honor Society.

Elijah also gave back to his community as a volunteer for the blood drive and concession stand and assisted at Youth Track and Field Day.

Beyond the classroom, Elijah has been an active volunteer for the Knights of Columbus Sarpy County Fair Food Booth, which stays true to the service values that define the Knights.

This fall, Elijah heads to Chadron State College to pursue a degree in public health. We have no doubt his dedication to service and community will carry him far.

Congratulations Elijah. Best of luck at Chadron State! 👏

We'll continue our preaching series this week, focusing on the Sacrament of Reconciliation. As we prepare for this, and as I mentioned on last Sunday, the question we ought to ask about this (and all the sacraments) is, "Why does God give this to us?" In other words, we're trying to understand the good thing that He wants for us. So, we'll dive into this on Saturday and Sunday.

Mowing Volunteers Needed!

As summer continues, we are still looking for volunteers to help mow the St. Joseph Church campus throughout the remainder of the mowing season. We are grateful to everyone who has already given their time to help keep our grounds looking beautiful.

The Ladies' Guild June Charity Drive will support Vita Nova Maternity Home, a ministry that provides housing, therapeutic services, case management, educational programming, and life and parenting skills for new or expectant mothers in crisis.

We invite you to help by donating some of their most needed items: laundry detergent, dryer sheets, toilet paper, diaper cream, baby Tylenol, and baby Motrin. Thank you for helping care for mothers and babies in their
ime of need.
