Happy Anniversary, Pythian Ave! 🎉

Today we celebrated God’s faithfulness through the years—a legacy of faith and a future of hope.

As we look back, we see God’s hand in the beginning of our church. We see the support of fellow believers and what can happen when God’s people work together to reach the lost.

Pythian Ave began with a plot of land purchased for just $50 and gifted to the church. Shortly afterward, $800 was raised to build a house of worship. As the church grew, so did the need for a larger building. The original frame building was pulled back, and a new building was begun. That structure became what we know today as our basement, with the upper level completed in the late 1920s.

Through the years, Pythian Ave has continued to grow and has had the privilege of supporting the beginning of other churches and sharing the Gospel with our community and beyond.

We are thankful for a rich history, a faithful God, and generations of people who have faithfully served Him.

As we look toward the future, may we continue to share the Gospel and reach the lost.

Sunday Sermon | Acts 27-28

Paul's journey to Rome was anything but easy. Storms raged, the ship was driven across open waters, and run aground. In a moment that felt like all hope was lost, Paul stood and spoke with confidence because he trusted God.

Lessons from the journey:
1. Our journey may involve difficulties. Acts 27:7-8
2. Our journey may involve dangers. Acts 27:9
3. Our journey may involve disasters. Acts 27:10
4. God has a design for our journey. Acts 27:33-36
5. God has a destiny for our journey. Acts 27:44

As followers of Jesus we are called to be people of clarity in a confused world. While others may feel overwhelmed by the troubles of life, we must point them to the God of hope -- the One who makes all things new.

"I believe God that it will turn out exactly as He told me." Acts 27:25

Faith trusts God even when circumstances seem hopeless.
