When I stepped into the pulpit last Sunday morning I noted the Ed Cohen was sitting in the back. I've seen Ed visiting us at ZCBC before and honored his presence by not bringing attention to him but treating him like visiting family. None of us knew that would be the last time we'd see him in our community. Over the years we have had Ed's presence throughout our community, capturing all the special moments of the Springfield Black community. And he did it as "one of us", being presence and caring about the moments that mean so much to our community. During my sermon Sunday I spoke about Jesus looking to do a new thing in our lives and our need to
perceive what Jesus wants to do in our lives by letting go of what we think we know about God and letting Jesus do a new thing. I pray that somehow it spoke to Ed's heart and soul.
Rest in peace Ed Cohen, thanks for the memories. ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ
