❤️ Sunday Sermon Recap: God Is Close to the Brokenhearted

📖 Psalm 34:17–20

This past Sunday, we were reminded of a powerful truth: God does not turn away from broken people. He draws near to them.

The truth is, everybody is fighting something.

Some are grieving the loss of a loved one. Some are battling addiction, depression, anxiety, or struggles within their families. Others are carrying guilt, shame, or burdens that nobody else knows about.

Sometimes the people with the biggest smiles are fighting the hardest battles.

But here’s the good news: You may feel invisible to the world, but you have never been invisible to God!

Through Sunday’s message, we were reminded that God sees our pain, He has not abandoned us, and His grace is sufficient even when our circumstances don’t immediately change.

Whatever you’re facing today, remember:

🙏 You don’t have to carry your burdens alone.

❤️ Your past does not have to determine your future.

✝️ No one is beyond the saving power of Jesus Christ.

Psalm 34:18 (NKJV) reminds us:

“The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.”

Church, let’s be people who show compassion, extend grace, and walk alongside those who are hurting. We never know what someone else may be going through.

You may be broken, but you are NOT beyond God’s reach!

There is healing, forgiveness, restoration, and HOPE in Jesus Christ! 🙌

Yesterday we continued our “Issues with the Heart” sermon series with the message “When Sin Takes Root.”

Hebrews 12:15 warns us about allowing a root of bitterness to spring up and cause trouble. The truth is, what we allow to grow in our heart will eventually show up in our life.

We looked at several heart issues that can quietly take root if we are not careful: bitterness, pride, envy, hatred, unforgiveness, and lust. We were also reminded that what is in the heart eventually comes out.

The question is not, “What is wrong with their heart?”
The question is, “Lord, what is growing in mine?”

Our prayer should be the words of Psalm 139:23–24:

“Search me, O God, and know my heart… And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

May we allow God to search us, reveal what does not belong, and continue changing our hearts from the inside out.

What a wonderful day at our Free Clothing Giveaway! ❤️

We are so thankful for everyone who came out today and for every volunteer who helped make this event possible. It was a blessing to see so many people finding clothes, shoes, household items, books, and other things they could use—and even more special to spend time visiting with people from our community.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated items, helped set up, worked throughout the day, and stayed to clean up afterward. We couldn’t have done it without you!

More than anything, we pray that everyone who came through our doors today felt welcomed, cared for, and loved.
