We picked up a HUGE lot of starter plants today from a generous donor for Rooted in Hope, and we’re getting so excited! 👏👏

EVERYONE who attends gets to take home a FREE starter plant of their choice!🌿

Every plant starts somewhere. With care and the right environment, beautiful things can grow. We believe the same is true for people. 🤍

Sometimes loving our neighbors looks wonderfully simple: a warm coat, a pair of gloves, dry socks—and a community willing to work together.

Nehemiah is grateful to come alongside Springfield City School District and other community partners for the upcoming Community Winter Clothing Giveaway!

Coats, hats, gloves, scarves, shoes, and socks will be available for Pre-K through adults, while supplies last.

This is also a great example of the heart behind Nehemiah’s Faith Community Crisis Response Team: uniting the Church across congregations while building strong partnerships across sectors to respond to real needs in our community.

This winter, that includes mobilizing churches for daytime warming centers, launching our new Street Outreach Collaborative, and finding practical ways like this to “help the helpers” who are already serving our most vulnerable neighbors.

We’re especially grateful for our partners at United Way and their leadership in the new All-In Clark County coalition-building effort. The name says it beautifully: caring well for our most vulnerable neighbors is going to take ALL of us—with an ALL-IN level of commitment.
We don’t believe the Church has to create a separate program for every community need. Sometimes our greatest contribution is to come together, bring what we have, and serve alongside the schools, nonprofits, public agencies, businesses, and direct-service providers already doing important work.

That’s ecumenical unity and cross-sector collaboration in action. And ultimately, it’s about loving our neighbors and serving Jesus together.

🧥 COMMUNITY WINTER CLOTHING GIVEAWAY!

As colder weather approaches, we’re grateful to partner with Springfield City School District and other community partners to help make sure our neighbors have what they need this winter.

So glad to see this level of cross-sector collaboration in our community!

During last Friday’s All Agency Conference, we had the opportunity to present a check to Clifton Avenue Church of God through the Maureen Sheehan Massaro Partner Agency Assistance Fund.

Clifton Avenue Church of God operates a food pantry in Springfield and also provides breakfast for pantry participants twice each month. When their freezer recently stopped working, the agency needed help replacing it, making their cooler safer, and easier for volunteers to access.

This $999 grant will help provide a replacement freezer and a ramp for the cooler, helping the pantry maintain its food storage capacity and making it safer for volunteers to move food during pantry operations.

We’re grateful to be able to support the organizations working alongside us to make sure our neighbors have access to the food and resources they need. 🥦💚
