🌟 – December 2, 2025

Next Tuesday, we join the global movement of generosity—and we invite our church family to prayerfully support our local Adventist Community Services ministry, located at Springfield First Seventh-day Adventist Church.

In 2025, our ACS Center was officially established as the Springfield-Clark Community Initiative (SCCI)—a united effort of our congregations and local volunteers committed to serving others in Christ’s name, allowing neighbors to help neighbors.

Through SCCI, we are meeting real and urgent needs in our community by:
🍞 Providing free food and personal items through our Open Hands Free Pantry
🚗 Distributing groceries through Operation Hunger
🎒 Supplying weekend meal bags for students at Park Layne and Shawnee Elementary Schools

Your tax-deductible monetary gift directly supports these ministries and helps us continue showing the love of Jesus in practical, compassionate ways—right here at home.

As the temperatures drop, many of our neighbors are facing the cold without a warm coat. You can help.

We are currently collecting new or gently used coats for children, teens, and adults. Your donation will go directly to a neighbor who needs it this winter.

👐 Neighbors Helping Neighbors — Now More Than Ever

As the government shutdown continues and food assistance programs end, many of our neighbors are facing even greater food insecurity.

The Springfield-Clark Community Initiative (SCCI) — a ministry of the Till Plains Seventh-day Adventist Fellowship — is stepping up to meet the need, but we can’t do it alone.

We’re seeking volunteers to help with:
🫶 Packing and distributing groceries
💬 Offering prayer and encouragement
🌟 Serving warm meals and showing kindness

Whether you can give a few hours a week or just one afternoon a month, your time and compassion will make a real difference.

🌟 Exciting News from Till Plains Fellowship! 🌟

We’re thrilled to share that the Till Plains Seventh-day Adventist Fellowship congregations have come together in a new way to strengthen our community outreach — through the formation of the Springfield-Clark Community Initiative (SCCI)!

Rooted in faith and driven by compassion, SCCI’s mission is simple: neighbors helping neighbors throughout Springfield and Clark County.

This new initiative unites two of our long-standing ministries:

🍎 Operation Hunger – our monthly grocery ministry at Springfield First that has faithfully served those facing food insecurity.
🤝 Open Hands Free Pantry – the Springfield Initiative’s weekday pantry program, now part of our family of service.

Together, these programs form the heart of SCCI’s ministry, providing groceries, warm meals, and a welcoming environment where everyone is treated with dignity and love.

At SCCI, we believe that community transformation starts with simple acts of kindness. Whether you’re seeking support, looking to volunteer, or simply want to make a difference, we invite you to join us in this mission.

Free food — rain or shine! Drive through between 3 and 5 pm for a free bag of groceries for EACH family member! We also have lettuce, juice and a few boxes of baby formula (while supplies last).
