SEPTEMBER IS DEVOTED TO THE SEVEN SORROWS OF OUR LADY

The devotion of the Seven Sorrows of the Virgin Mary originated in the thirteenth century. It recalls the prophecy of Simeon (Lk. 2:22-35) concerning the Sorrows the Virgin Mother of God was to endure in compassion with the suffering and death of her Divine Son.
