commisary day search with a raid. the benton county sheriff makes sure that the 1970's Atica state prison or the latest episode of GITMO is living well in the untrained eyes of the newly minted c.o.s after the very overdramatic take down of just one indavidual that occured on wendensday last. the compleat search of all the cells was under way. the net haul by the sheriff was newly purchased commisary. it is not bad enough that the commisary is over priced even by las vagas standards but now they take it at whim. if you had a toothbrush it was taken. if you had an open bag of milk,coffee,cerial, or anything from commisary it was confiscated and thrown away on the premis that something could be hidden in it. so now we sit with the saying 'commisary is a privlage',and the statement that if we call it contraband its contraband. you can spend thousands of dollors here on small things that can be taken at any c.o.s whim. but for the major things like gangs, drugs, gambling, and beatings go unanswered by the sheriff deputies. as far as that goes i have seen whole sale catoring to 'patched' members of multipule gangs on a daily basis. the prisoners here have to beg even for a simple book to read, and if you want a bible that fits your religious requirements you have to go through an act of congress. now you can get a koran, book of morman, or something on the buddah the same day. but if you are a christian you might have to wait for the Lords second comming. if the courts want to clean up the system maybe they should start with the ones wearing the badges in places like these. and leave people defending themselfs from state sposored terorest like me alone to live and provide for our families. god bless fr. ferris

hi wife, could not write yesterday due to the late dinner, cussing guards or guards in training. Then we ate, then the mob squad came in, all dressed in black with riot shock shields and shotguns and bean bag bazookas and we all laid on the floor while they beat the crap out of one of the inmates. Then we all got searched and all our stuff thrown on the floor. Then we got locked down again. So...somebody please shoot me! I personally got to listen while they threatened to break the poor guys arms. How is it that it should take 6-8 supposedly trained C.O.'s to take one unarmed man to the ground. They 'the C.O.'s' act like this is a super max facility for only the 'Hannibal Lectors' of our society. They say you can judge a society by its jails and the heart of those that work in a jail by their behavior. We are a republic that practices democracy not a democracy per say. This is why Rome failed and this is why the United States will fail also. We treat our citizens like they serve the State. Thus when the State feels they need you no longer or you have upset one of the Pretorian guard you disappear into a jail or prison or just disappear for good. What a country we live in. The atrocities I have witnessed while here and the grievous use of power and the pure lack of care both emotional, physical and mental for the inmates here is completely deplorable. Yet I cannot get too involved with the before mentioned except to give religious guidance for the ones wishing to find some comfort while they are here. I use my time to study what the jail allows me to have in scripture which is only half of my religious script, but I try. Love you wife please edit and paste. From Charles around 2pm today.

HI WIFE, crap day we have been locked down since last night. eating in our cells. three men to a cell one eating on the floor since there is no stool in our cell that means one inmate eats within a foot of a common toilet. this all came about because of a random search last night where the c.o.'s took it upon themselves to remove commissary purchased items that belonged to people. when the sgt. in charge declined to admit to the plethora of missing items he was called a lier by an inmate. that inmate was promptly removed from the pod tossed on the ground and handcuffed and taken to the hole. the cpl incharge then informed us that we would be spending the next day in our cells. so the moral of this story is buy stuff from commissary at a high price..let the c.o.'s throw it away for lack of something to do, then use group punishment to crank up the bad energy in the pod while not taking responsibility for stealing property of the inmates. if they cant train, or accept responsibility for the wrongs they do why do they want a new jail? a new building will not fix what is wrong with the deputies in this one. they need to have a civilian oversight committee or a grievance system that you are not threatened for the use of. from the captain to the chaplain to the common c.o. this facility is broken. and what's worse is the fact that they turn off all comments on the page so others can join in.

My husband, a licensed evangelical minister has been in the custody of the Benton county jail for a full year. He has been continually denied religious materials in reference to his religious needs. He has been in custody because a sheriff lied and has been denied bond based on the strength of that lie. In that year our young children have suffered, we have lost our house and property and the building we store goods for our ministries outreach. How much more is a lie worth? My husband has been taken to the emergency room three times and placed back into custody when the hospital has told the jail he needs medical assistance to fix the problem. The jails answer is to allow only half the meds he was supposed to take and deny his dietary requirements. How is it that even something as simple as reading materials cannot be provided and meals fall well short of the dietary needs of the prisoners but the sheriff wants a new larger jail? The ability of the sheriff and the deputies to lie and make it up as they go is evident in the many faces the badge wears. I would like to know why nobody can get the same answer out of the sheriff's department? The inmate handbook is there for the inmates to know and understand what his or her part is while in custody, but the simple problem arises when any deputy can change it on a whim and make it all a liquid set of rules that they can change verbally at any time. The muslim community just finished their celebration of Ramadan but my husband while observing a religious fast was put in isolation and denied his rights to recreation and hygiene and put on su***de watch. My husband has had no write ups and is a model prisoner. He does not gamble or run a 'store' from his cell. he gives as people need and has supplied Bibles and learning materials to other inmates from our funds. When are we going to really look at why my husband is in jail and get beyond the lies? Does anyone really care to find out what really happens in the jail?

This is Leslie Ferris, Charles Ferris's wife. Charles has been in jail since May 04, 2023. Without going into all the long details, he shouldn't have been arrested or put in jail in the first place but it has been almost 1 year and he still sits in jail awaiting trial. He has asked me to start a letter writing campaign on his behalf. "Letters should just consist of people telling the judge that I'm a priest in good standing and the help that i have provided. The meals, the outreach supplies, the Bible saturation campaigns, the gas, food, and clothing that we buy people in need from our own pockets. The jail letter, asking the sherrif why religious materials granted to some are denied to the one priest they have here. Why are they so set to violate the 1st amendment with people of the Christian religion."

So now that it has been a week since the celebration of Jesus keeping His word.Are you still celebrating?God bless you F...

I beheld and witnessed.

I stopped by a local church some time back and saw something that bothers me even today.

This individual crossed the church lobby, placed his Bible on a trash can, and went into a restroom. There it was, the most powerful book known to man, sitting on a trash can. Well, I went over and picked the Bible up and held onto it until the person came to retrieve it.

As the person came out of the bathroom and began casting about looking for their Bible. I approached and handed them back the Bible with a smile.

That is when I meet the Devil. The indignation of the person was palatable, and hatred could be easily realized in the individuals face. There was tangible hatred emanating from this person.

A very well-spoken and dressed Devil it was.
