Literacy is important to Klein United Women in Faith. This week we met to organize the books for our little book box program. Children in nearby neighborhoods benefit from having books close to their homes.

We kicked off the new year by making World Thank Offering boxes. This year we’ll fill them to celebrate things we are thankful for and collect the offering in November. Didn’t get your box? Leave a comment below and we will get one to you.

We've recently added "A Living Gospel: Reading God's Story in Holy Lives" to our Reading Program Library. In this book, Robert Ellsberg writes short biographies of models of holiness, such as Dorothy Day, Thomas Merton, and Flannery O'Connor. Saints aren't always the saints we believe them to be, but they are everything we need them to be.
This book from the 2021 Reading List counts toward the Nurturing for Community category.

Klein United Women in Faith has a special relationship with the Kaufman Alternative Education Center at Klein ISD. This month we wrote Christmas cards to the staff.

Klein UWFaith joined other Methodist women from across the Texas Conference at their Annual Meeting at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center in Palestine on September 26-27. They planned missions, made new friends, elected officers, and heard the Good Word preached. Join us Oct 9 to hear all about it and find ways that you can get involved.
