Esau gave up his birthright for a bowl of meat/flesh stew. Carnality comes from the Greek word sarx which means flesh. Being carnal fundamentally means giving up something spiritual to satisfy something natural. The story of Esau has always been tragic to me because he had the perpetual blessing/favor of God in his hand and gave up it to satisfy a temporary fleshly need with a bowl of "sarx."
It is a cautionary tale so we can remember to make the main thing the main thing, and not fooled by the greatest deceiver of all, the enemy. There is a state of favor that the enemy can NOT remove us from (can you say Eden). His alternative plan: to fool us into giving it up for something always cheaper.

At something called Freedom Conference. It is two powerful days to lead people to freedoms from things like pride, abuse, fear. It concludes after 8 weeks of weekly Bible study with a small group.

We just dealt with fear and I want to memorialize the prayer just prayed over me.

"I am confident. There is a lioness behind my cool exterior. I was placed here for a specific purpose. I will no longer feel a need to be validated from people even my Bible study group. The identity I am to operate in is the one He has given me. I am worthy to be used and called with a particular anointing to be used to help people in the way I was born to. I'm full of faith. I don't have to pray something multiple times to be heard. I will not hold back what's inside for fear failure. I will have a God confidence vs self-confidence that He who has begun a good work will complete it. "

Amen

It has been a tough couple of weeks for the country and the world. But this is Holy week. A week in which great sadness, confusion, anxiety and heart break ended in great triumph.

In other words Stay hopeful

Yesterday I thought up a clay pot and it's worth. How inexpensive it is... Until it's filled with diamonds. It's value spikes because of what's inside.

Sometimes we confuse the value of the gifts in us with our inherent value. We can be tricked into thinking that we aren't earthen vessels like everyone else when we are gifted, talented, and or used by God.

We can't get it twisted lest we exalt ourselves above measure. Our value is connected to someone's need.
Example if someone is ill, God may place their gift of healing inside you to transfer to them supernaturally or through your profession.
If someone needs clarity and guidance, God may place another's road map inside you to give to them.
A tax preparer before April 15 is highly valued because of tax payer needs.
On and on

We are a conduits. It is not our diamonds/gifts inside our earthen vessels but God's gifts with someone else's name on them.
If there were no needs, there would not be gifts. Our purpose, our gifts are inextricably tied to the need of others. He gifts us to meet those needs.

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ 4:7

I thought of it when we were praying for those who'd walked away from their relationship with God this morning.
Our prayer group leader read from Ezekiel. "Can these bones Iive?"

I thought,"How far from God did someone have to have l moved to have dry bones?!
But God. Then i thought, God brought flesh to bone, nerve and synapse etc but ended with His breath of life.

I thought "what would it take to not die in the first place?"

Recognize that relationships including with God is living and the last thing He restored (breath) was the first to leave before death.

If we see relationships with God, family friends as living it'll shift our paradigm and how we approach them
My morning thought.
