Dear Church,

Thank you for all of your generous inquiries about how to help us clean up the flood damage on the church campus. We now have a plan in place to begin salvaging our Staff Building and the eight portables that took on water.

If you are able, please join us from 9am - 1pm Wednesday in front of the Staff Building. We will be moving furniture out of 90 workspaces, cutting Sheetrock, and ripping out carpet. Construction experience is not required, but is preferred. We are asking that all staff and volunteers park in front of the main sanctuary, and walk around to the back of the campus where the Staff Building is located. Be ready for a great team effort, and dress for the mess!

Additional Details:
* At this time, Gosling is flooded, but the campus is accessible from Kuykendahl via Creekside or West Rayford.

* Our electricity is intermittent, so charged, battery-operated tools are a plus.

* If anyone has access to construction dumpsters, we are trying to rent several.

Time to shine the spotlight on Brian Mann. Brian is our exceptionally talented pianist and keyboard musician. When we say ‘exceptionally talented’, it’s actually a gigantic understatement. This musical wiz started playing the piano at the very young age of 4. Wait for it… wait for it… let it sink in… yeah, we said 4! Additionally, he plays the pipe organ and has experience as an orchestra conductor. Now imagine all of that while he quite literally hears the colors in the music, every note corresponding to a different hue. Brian has had this unique talent, or condition, called Synesthesia, his entire life. Amazing.
Off of the stage, Brian has been on staff at WoodsEdge since 2011, and currently serves as the Pastor of Storytelling & Creative. Previous to working at the church, he lived in LA and worked in the film and TV industry as a composer. He also lived in Sweden for 3 years, and has been telling stories in the church both through audio and visual mediums for 12 years. This man of many talents enjoys traveling, finding the perfect cup of coffee, and cooking his bubbly, ray of sunshine, wife of 16 years, Andrea, scrumptious Italian food. Sometimes they even share it with their kiddos. They have 2 boys, Ethan (10) and Elliott (7), and a foster daughter who is lovingly nicknamed ‘LilSis’ (2).

We’re shifting the spotlight again! This time were focusing on our electric guitarist, Ryan Cecil. Ryan has been a part of a WoodsEdge Homegroup Bible Study since 2006, then joined the staff team in May 2014 as a Media Technician. This multi-talented guy has many additional skills including playing mandolin and trumpet, and running his own studio where he produces, records, mixes and masters records. When he’s not playing or creating legendary music, you can find him watching UT sports, reading theoretical physics/cosmology books and papers, or creating DIY studio electronics. He also enjoys just about any activity that lets him experience nature. He loves playing ultimate frisbee, snow skiing, camping, hiking, and fishing. Lastly, and most importantly, Ryan has a beautiful wife, Margaret, and together they have two sweet daughters. Claire is 4 years old, and younger sis Kate is almost 2.

Let’s tilt the spotlight onto our multi-talented bass guitarist, Zack Jones. Aside from bass, Zack additionally plays acoustic and electric guitars, and drums. We are lucky enough to have had him as a leader in the WoodsEdge worship band for 5 years now. In 2008, he graduated from his alma mater, Sam Houston State University, with a degree in Economics. Currently, Zack works locally as a graphic designer at Push Productions in Tomball. His hobbies include drinking large quantities of Coca-cola and adding to his ever growing tennis-shoe collection. Lastly, and most importantly, he has been hitched to his beautiful wife, Christina, for 4 years now, and together they have 1 dog-child named Winston.

WoodsEdge would like to turn the spotlight onto our talented drummer, Joel Mathew, who has been with us for the past year and a half. Joel was born and raised in the south Houston area. He started playing the drums at the wee age of 5, and began leading at church at only 14 years old. When he’s not working as a full time musician, Joel loves hanging with his friends and family… or shopping… sometimes. We are incredibly blessed to have Joel in our music ministry!

WoodsEdge recently welcomed Worship Pastor, Colin Bates, onto our staff team. He makes an awesome addition and we are thrilled to have him. Colin grew up in The Woodlands area, attended Texas A&M University, and has served as a worship pastor in Louisiana for the past several years. He is excited to return to his hometown with his wife Dayna, and their 2 sons. We know God brought Colin to us with a special purpose and we cannot wait to see how he grows the Worship Ministry.
