In 2 Corinthians 2 the grieving Apostle proclaims the crucified Christ for the sake of the joy of the grieving church. He does so to invite the church into his joy, and into the work of sharing Christ's comfort with those who have caused them grief.

In Job 38-42 we hear the gospel of Job. When Job sees God's glory in his gracious word, sinful Job repents and is forgiven. Then like Jesus, righteous Job is raised up, intercedes for his friends which turns away God's wrath, and restored Job gives gifts to his people.
