Lord, would you take the anxiety, the frustration, and the concerns that ruminate in our hearts and replace them with the beautiful and powerful peace that you so generously promise us.

We believe that your promises hold true and we seek to grab hold of them. We don’t have to reach for tangible addictions or quick fixes when we have your perfect peace promised to us.

Worry comes naturally to all of us. It's how we instinctually respond to difficult or challenging situations. The God we love and serve knew this and gave these words to Jesus to share with his disciples. These words apply to the friends that Jesus walked on this earth with but they apply just as much to us today.

Do you pass by a field of wildflowers daily or even have some growing in your own yard?

What would it take to use these often overlooked and unwanted wildflowers as a reminder and reassurance that our God loves and cares for us so deeply?

What would it take to have a faith in God that is robust enough to overcome the worries we find ourselves hijacked by on a daily basis?

Make some space today to sit with the Lord. Ask Him to show you where your faith is lacking and why.

In Paul's letter to the Romans, he leans into his vulnerability to share the struggles he is facing as a follower of Jesus.

Just like Paul, we know what is right. We also know our own struggles and sinful tendencies. The first step in overcoming these is, to be honest with God and with ourselves.

Are you admitting to yourself and to God the struggles you are facing?

Are you asking the Lord to come alongside you in your journey to overcome your sinful tendencies?

Jesus speaks these words to his disciples right after telling them that their faith can move mountains.

The Lord wants us to ask for anything in His name. He wants us to draw near because our prayer time is some of our most intimate moments with Him.

Are you seeking out intimate time with the Lord?

Are you practicing stillness, silence, and solitude?

Are there any grudges in your heart that you are ready to give to the Lord in prayer as you draw nearer to Him?

The Lord has forgiven us of our sins, but we sometimes neglect to forgive ourselves. When we carry this weight of our shortcomings and mistakes around with us, we cannot fully experience the joy that the Lord has for us.

Take time today to list out the transgressions that you are still holding on tightly to. Offer them to the Lord, as he has already forgiven you for them.

Move forward in the peace of knowing that you belong to a God that forgives and loves us still.

Jesus spoke these words to Martha when she doubted Him. Martha soon thereafter experienced Jesus' truths come to life, alongside Lazarus.

How often do we doubt Jesus, as Martha did?

Reflect on a time when you saw the Glory of God after doubting.

We are often determined to keep a tight grip on the things that keep us up at night. We worry, we stress, and we ruminate when there is a much simpler solution.

What would it take for you to give these things over to Jesus?

Is there something that is holding you back?

In the story of Jesus' birth we should pay attention to these two themes that the angels come from Heaven to share with us:

Glory to God
Peace on Earth

As we continue to move through our holiday season, ask yourself these questions every day:

Am I bringing GLORY TO GOD with my actions, words, and motivations?

Am I bringing PEACE TO EARTH with my support, love, and rest alongside those I care about?

As we find ourselves fully immersed in the hurry, the busy, and the overcommitted this holiday season, may we not forget our attitude, our motivations, and our reason for celebration.

Ask yourself:

Am I still prioritizing my time with the Lord?

Is my work fruitful and helpful to others?

Will I glorify the Kingdom or myself in this task?

Jesus' disciples were ordinary men whom He called to walk alongside Him. Jesus taught and led them in a way that prepared them to go out and do the same.

We too have been called to walk alongside Jesus. We can daily practice His Way of discipling others to want to follow Him.

Ask yourself:

What does it look like for me to follow Jesus?

Am I seeking to practice His Way of discipleship?

The Lord is both accessible and available in every moment of our day.

When we are struggling to experience peace in our lives we should remember to draw near to Him.

Do you believe that the Lord gives us access and availability to Him?

Are you seeking Him above all else when you are in times of need?

As we continue to see divisiveness plague our country, may we remember the most important calling of us as believers in Jesus.

Take a few minutes to connect with the Lord with these questions:

What does it look like for me to love everyone with brotherly affection?

Where are places that I am not honoring others with my words, behaviors, or motives?
