Our final Rock Youth Ministry rotation of the school year was one for the books, and I think Jonah and the Whale may have been a fan favorite! This incredible journey through Jonah’s story gave us so many hands-on ways to learn about his struggle to listen to God.
We read stories, watched a movie, created scrolls in the art room illustrating Jonah’s journey, performed puppet shows retelling the story, and painted whales while imagining what it would have been like inside the belly of the whale for three days and three nights.
We had a blast with outdoor games, fishing for story answers, a creative twist on Mr. Whale tag, a fun right-left poem with tasty surprises, and even ate our way through Jonah’s adventure with foods representing different parts of the story!
To top it all off, we learned a super fun song with Miss Carrie about “Jo, Jo, Jo, Jo”
What an amazing way to wrap up our year together—full of faith, fun, creativity, and unforgettable memories. We are so thankful for all the wonderful kids, leaders, and families who made this year at Rock so special!

It was a fun-filled last night of confirmation…with an amazing race activity throughout the community with clues and tasks. We ended with a story and ice cream sundaes. We had our high schoolers help run the race activities across town and had our last youth group of the year as well. So much laughter and fun!

Thank you to our Adopt-A-Highway cleanup crew! We spent last Sunday cleaning up stretches of Big Hollow Road and D**e Road. It was a beautiful day to be outside and a great way to wrap up Earth Week. Together, we collected 12 bags of trash along these highways—your hard work makes a real difference in our community!

A wonderful opportunity to help our fellow people in Christ following the devastating flooding from Friday’s storms in Janesville.
Many families are facing damage, loss, and uncertainty right now. In times like this, we’re called to come together, lend a hand, and show compassion in action. Whether it’s through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word—every bit of support makes a difference.
Please keep those affected in your prayers and consider how you might be able to help. ❤️

Volunteers are needed to remove damaged contents from the church, starting at 2pm today, Sat April 18. Pants, sturdy boots, N-95 masks, and gloves needed. Meet at the main entrance portico. Keep in mind that it is wet and slippery inside. Bring squigees, snow shovels, and tarps if you have them. Thanks for your help!

Update: First Lutheran experienced catastrophic flooding on Friday evening, with more than four feet of water on the first level. A major cleanup is ahead, and we are deeply grateful for the incredible outpouring of help from our congregation and community. Most of the equipment and property on the first level was completely destroyed. Donations are welcome to help us rebuild and repair here:

These 5 students participated in a retreat last Sunday where they learned all about the sacrament of holy communion. Today during worship they were recognized for reaching this milestone in their faith journey.
