Tuesday August 9th is Erie Gives day. This is one of the best days of the year to remember Doorkeepers Christian Outreach in your charitable giving. Erie Gives has sponsors that contribute to a pool that is divided based on the contributions received by the non-profit organizations that participate. That means that your gift to Doorkeepers actually grows by going through Erie Gives!
This last year we recognized that the septic system at the facility needed work. We found that we needed to replace the leach field. We started last fall to get the ball rolling, but these projects take a long time. A suitable location has been found to build the leach field but getting all of the approvals have taken most of the summer, so it is a long way from being completed. With that limitation, Doorkeepers events this summer has been limited to one day events. The old system cannot support overnight events with showers, increased bathroom and kitchen use. We would appreciate your help in funding this critical upgrade so we can host overnight events next season.
