Jesus said that the world would know we (the church) are His disciples are by the way we love one other (John 13:35).
Yet rather than love one another, we who call ourselves the body of Christ, are spewing out division, hate, and judgement towards each other. We manipulate what the word says for our own benefit, rather than for context and truth, and because so, many are being led away from Christ and His Kingdom, rather than towards it (Matthew 23:13-15).
The truth is, if Jesus were to come back today, He wouldn't be coming for a church without spot or blemish (Ephesians 5:27), but rather to flip over tables and chased us out of His house ( Matthew 22:12-13).
God is stirring up hearts, and to tell you the truth, His doing so, has brought great conviction in me. We who call ourselves the body of Christ, need to take a good look at our own lives, and the plank in our own eye, before we judge others for the speck they have in theirs (Matthew 7:3-5).
When we can look at our own flaws and sin, and repent for what we have done wrong, then we can humble ourselves, with the love of God, to forgive others. And for some, restore relationships, and once again, grow together in the love of God.
What we also need to understand is that while God's love is unconditional, and nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38), God's love is not based on tolerance, but rather holiness and righteousness (Ephesians 1:3-4, 1 Peter 1:16).
Now while nothing can separate us from the love of God, our sin keeps us from His presence (Isaiah 59:2).
And Romans 6:23 tells us, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
It is through faith and belief in Jesus, His death and resurrection, that God forgives us of our sins, and restores us back to His presence (Romans 5:8).
We need to strive to be more like Jesus of the Bible; not the new age, do and believe what you want and you'll get into heaven, Jesus; because He doesn't exist.
