Do you ever feel like your love for God is too small? Like your faith wavers too much? You're not alone.

The Apostle John reminds us in 1 John 3:19-20 that "whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and He knows everything." Your self-condemning thoughts don't have the final word—God does. He sees the genuine faith in Christ, however imperfect. He sees the real love for His people, however inconsistent. These aren't nothing—they're evidence of His Spirit working in you.

The Holy Spirit doesn't whisper assurance to hearts that don't belong to Christ. If you're grieving over your sin and longing for holiness, that tenderness itself is proof of God's grace. Stop treating chronic despair as spiritual seriousness. God is greater than your doubting heart.

Come as you are. Rest in what Christ has already accomplished.

1 John 3:11-24 Sermon #614 1 John 3:11-24 addresses a quiet suffering many believers experience: the persistent doubt that whispers we're not good enough, faithful enough, or loving enough to truly belong to God. The passage confronts us with three distinct heart conditions we might recognize in our...

Between Christ's first appearing and His second coming, we live in the "in-between." True faith isn't just belief—it's transformation. The seed of God in us produces righteousness and love. We're His children now, being made like Him. One day, we'll see Him as He is.

In 1 John 2:28-3:10, we're challenged to examine our lives between the two appearings of Christ—His first coming to take away our sins, and His second coming when we'll be made completely like Him.

1 John 2:28-3:10 Sermon #613 1 John 2:28-3:10 invites us to examine our lives in light of two pivotal moments: Christ's first appearing in the incarnation and His promised second coming. The passage challenges us to consider what it means to live faithfully in the space between these two appearings....

Have you ever watched someone you love drift away from the faith? Not suddenly, but slowly—until the Jesus they once confessed became unrecognizable?

John's first letter speaks directly to this heartbreak. He reminds us that in Christ, we already possess everything we need. The Holy Spirit's anointing isn't reserved for the spiritually elite—it belongs to every believer, even the newest among us. We don't need an upgrade beyond what we have in Jesus.

The antichrist spirit doesn't shout. It whispers. It redefines. It offers "enlightened Christianity" without the cross, resurrection, or repentance. But here's the truth from 1 John 2:18-27: those who truly belong to Christ will persevere. Not because we're stronger, but because the Chief Shepherd keeps His sheep safe.

If you're grieving someone who walked away, if your own faith feels thin, or if you're just spiritually dry—don't look for something new. Return to the beginning. Go back to the gospel that saved you. The Spirit of truth who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you.

The world promises satisfaction through the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life. But it's all fading away. Only what's done for Christ lasts forever. The tragedy isn't just that we sin—it's that we give our hearts to things that can never keep us, satisfy us, or save us.

What do you love most? That's the question at the heart of this week's message from 1 John 2:12-17.

Before calling us to resist the world's pull, the Apostle John reminds us of powerful truths for those in Christ: your sins are forgiven, you know the Father, and in Christ you have already overcome. Your identity isn't found in what you achieve, what you possess, or how others perceive you—it's anchored in Jesus.
