Grace Bible Church of Spokane exists as an autonomous, gospel-centered, and New Testament patterned local fellowship of those who profess faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Our meeting facilities are located at 7001 E. Bigelow Gulch Road, Spokane, WA, 99217. Our mailing address is 13206 N Yale Rd, Mead WA 99021 WA, 99217. As followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, who have been reconciled with God by His

grace through faith in Christ alone, we gather every Lord’s Day for worship through the singing of His praises, fellowship with other believers, through prayer, through the expository teaching/preaching of the Holy Scriptures, and the observance of the Lord's Table (Acts 2:42). As those who have been redeemed through the person and work of Jesus Christ, we believe that our purpose is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever (1Cor. 10:31; Ps. 73:25-26). Our mission is found in Matthew 28:18-20 where our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ states, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

We believe that the 66 books of the Bible form the authoritative, inerrant, infallible, sufficient, and understandable Word of the living God. Also, we believe that the Bible is our ultimate and final authority for faith and practice. It is the standard by which all persons will be held accountable to God. It is in the Scriptures that we find the normative pattern for the structure and function of the local church (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2Pet. 1:20-21; Deut. 29:29; Ps. 19:7-9; Ps. 119:105, 130; Acts 17:11; 1 Cor. 2:14-16; 1 Cor. 14:37, 40; 1 Tim. 3:15). We seek to praise God in our services and in our lives for who He is and what He has done through Christ Jesus the Lord. Soli Deo gloria ("Glory to God Alone")!

August’s is Joseph Scriven’s tender hymn, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.”

Scriven originally wrote the words as a poem for his ill mother in 1855, after emigrating to Canada. He could not get home to her, so he penned these words to comfort her and called it “Pray Without Ceasing.” They became this wonderful hymn on prayer.

Q: What does it mean to “be renewed in the spirit of your mind” (Ephesians 4:23)?

The phrase “be renewed” is derived from the Greek verb, ananeousthai, meaning “to be or become reestablished in a new and often improved manner.”

By entering a relationship with Jesus, the believer is reestablished in an improved standing as a “new creation” in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

At the same time, Christians are daily, continually being renewed by the indwelling Spirit of God: “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day” (2 Corinthians 4:16).

🤔 But what is “the spirit of your mind”? And how are we supposed to participate in this renewing process “day by day”?

What does it mean that a Christian is a “new creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17)?

The Bible tells us that all who believe and receive Christ through faith will be given the right to be spiritually born again as children of God (1 John 1:12-13).

This newborn soul delights in the things of God and abhors the things of the world and the flesh. Our purposes, feelings, desires, and understandings are fresh and different.

There is a new kind of love toward family and friends, a new compassion never before felt for enemies, and a new love for all mankind.

The things we once loved, we now detest. The sin we once held onto, we now desire to put away forever.

But what about the born again Christian who continues to sin? 🤔
