Spokane Bible Church

Spokane Bible Church Spokane Bible Church is a local independent Bible church. Spokane Bible Church is an independent Evangelical local church. The Bible is God's word.

We believe Jesus Christ, God Incarnate, paid the full penalty for man's sin when He died on the cross of Calvary. Any person, in simple faith (faith alone in Christ alone), trusting in the risen Christ as his or her only hope of heaven, refusing to trust in anything else, receives the gift of eternal life, which, once granted, can never be lost. We desire to teach the Bible, encourage each other i

n the faith, and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. It reveals God, His gracious gift of eternal life through the death of His Son, the wonderful blessings that God has given to believers, how to live the Christian way of life, the future, and many other biblical truths. Our services center on the teaching of the Bible. Bible classes include verse by verse studies of the Word and doctrinal categories. Our beliefs for the future times include a pre-tribulation rapture. We believe in dispensational theology. Study of the Word will enable believers to live the Christian way of life. We enjoy expressing our faith to God and to each other through music. We seek to fellowship and encourage each other when the church meets through Bible classes, prayer, social events, Bible conferences, and contacts throughout the week. We seek to spread the message of Christ through children's Bible clubs, Bible classes in homes, through missionary support, and through day-to-day communication with others about Christ's offer of eternal life.

Romans 49
Review to Prepare for Romans 12-15

SBC Family,

Really neat stuff coming tonight. I am taking us back because Romans 12 is going to move us forward out of something he has already spoken of.

This book is THE BOOK that spawned the concept of SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY and it shows you how to develop a SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY. It's very awesome and very wonderful and very worshipful. IDK why people don't love this stuff. Probably because of their sin. I have sin too, but I'm not too impressed with it. To see the realities of God is to be impressed with something genuinely impressive.

See you tonight,

Romans 49
Paul's Argument in Romans 9-11

SBC Family,

Tonight I don't have a paper to share. I do have an outline that I have included below. I want to do a walk through and summary of these important chapters. Israel is a major issue today. Election is a major issue today. Is God done with Israel? Has He rejected them forever because they rejected the Messiah?

I look forward to seeing you tonight!

V. Vindication (9:1-11:36)
A. Israel’s Past Election (9:1-23)
1. Paul’s Sorrow Over Israel (9:1-3)
2. Israel’s Advantages (9:4-5)
3. God’s Covenant Strategy with Israel (9:6-14)
4. God’s Strategy is His Sovereign Right (9:15-18)
5. Man’s Objection to God’s Sovereign Right (9:19-23)
B. Israel Present Rejection (9:24-11:10)
1. God’s Strategy Brings Salvation Blessing to Gentiles and Jews (9:24-29)
2. Gentiles Pursued Faith-Righteousness but Jews Israel Pursued Works-Righteousness (9:30-10:4)
3. Israel Should Have Known About Faith-Righteousness (10:5-8)
4. Jews Need to Believe/Confess to be Saved (10:9-10)
5. Jews and Gentiles Saved the Same Way (10:11-13)
6. Faith Comes by Hearing (10:14-17)
7. Gentiles Had Faith but Israel did Not (10:18-21)
8. God Still Has a Remnant of Believing Israel (11:1-10)
C. Israel’s Future Reception (11:11-36)
1. Israel Will Believe and Bring Great Blessing to the World (11:11-15)
2. Gentiles Presently in Place of Blessing but Israel Will be Grafted Back In (11:16-27)
3. God’s Merciful Strategy to Gentiles then Jews (11:28-32)
4. God Glorified for His Strategy (11:33-36)

Summary: In Romans 9-11 Paul shows how God’s righteousness is vindicated with respect to His covenant people Israel. Israel had every advantage, but only those who believe enjoy the covenant promises. Gentiles can now partake of the promises if they pursue righteousness by faith. Israel as a nation failed because they pursued righteousness by works, causing them to stumble over the Messiah. Thus, God turned to the Gentiles. This did not mean God rejected Israel forever. There is always a believing remnant. However, God is using the nation Israel’s transgression to bring salvation to Gentiles in order to make Jews jealous unto salvation. It is a time when God is showing mercy to Gentiles who partake of the spiritual blessings of Israel’s unconditional covenants. When the fullness of Gentiles comes in then God will remove Israel’s partial hardness and so all Israel will be saved. In this way, God will have shown mercy to all.

Romans 45
Israel's Future Reception 11:16-27

SBC Family,

This is part 2 of the olive tree illustration. It is very controversial and very interesting. I love this passage. I look forward to teaching it tonight and trying to clarify and expound its contents.

We were off last week, so a bit of review is in store. I look forward to seeing you.

See the attached.

Yours,
Jeremy
