A Word of Encouragement:
In modern society in our country, we are catered to everywhere we go. In efforts to gain the patronage of this consumer based society, businesses flood us with slogans like "your way, right away." For those of us growing up in this type of culture, this mindset of "my way, right away," can cause many problems. If you can't learn the truth that most things will not happen "my way," and for surely not "right away," your life will be full of frustration, aggravation, anger, discouragement, and depression. Jesus gave us a right mindset pattern in the garden of Gethsemane as He prayed, "Not my will but thine be done." Jesus had complete confidence and trust in our Heavenly Father that even though there was going to be pain involved, that there was a great plan in place that through His suffering many would be made whole. We have a promise made to us by God that He will work out everything for our good. There is indeed a great plan at work in each person’s life that places that life in the caring hands of our Savior Jesus Christ. What if we understood that by some adverse situations that we might encounter or some temporary pain we might experience that our example of trust in God and His deliverance of us, helps many to trust in Him also? Instead of "my way, right away," we must embrace "His way, His time," for it is only His way that is perfect. It is only His time that will allow everything to work together for our good. It is only His plan that will bring us in through the pearly gates to enjoy the glory of Heaven for eternity.
