Spirit in the Hills

Spirit in the Hills We are an ELCA church diversely centered in Christ, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and sent to share God's love with the world.

Come as you are and feel welcome and at home. Worship Sundays, 10AM - In Person and Online Our Beliefs
We are God’s children, you, me, all of us. That means we are loved by God, perfectly—whoever we are and whatever we have done. What’s more, we believe accepting God’s love changes us and we find abundant life in that relationship. We can share this grace here at Spirit in the Hills because two gr

acious churches stretched beyond their natural boundaries and held us in prayer and presence for two years. Our Brief History
At the moment we are considered a mission congregation formed to serve the people of the Spicewood area (including Briarcliff, Lakeway, and Bee Cave). We began as a joint community with the congregations of St. Peter’s Lutheran, Marble Falls and Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran, Austin. From 2008 to 2010, we worshipped at the Briarcliff Community clubhouse. A converted art gallery became our worship home at Christmas, 2010.

This past Sunday, Pentecost, was a special service at Spirit in the Hills: two graduating seniors blessed, three confirmands affirmed, and one younger student honored for auditing the full confirmation course. We surround them with love, prayer, and hope.

PRAYER OF THE DAY

Grieving God, your only son Jesus fell to the earthly desires of humanity. Forgive us for our sin and restore us to your grace. We pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

Amen.

Between the palms and the songs today we paused to ask what's guiding us, and what keeps us on the path of grace. It is this internal "steadying" that helps us stay on the path Jesus set—one of radical love and shared life.

Join us this Holy Week!
Maundy Thursday at 6 pm
Good Friday at 6 pm
Easter Sunday at 10 am.

(Come early Sunday for delicious breakfast tacos!)

“You are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

Last night we were reminded: we are finite, we are fragile, and we are deeply connected. It makes mercy, justice, and love feel all the more urgent.

Not everything resonates at the same frequency.
Not every spiritual practice fits every body, every life, every season — Pastor Harold's Resonator is a gentle metaphor for grace in finding our rhythm.
