I remember this moment so distinctly.
We had just laid the final piece of wood on our pallet wall when Sunny and the team knocked on our back door. They arrived with an amazing crew, and within an hour, everything was set up.
That night became one of our favorite nights at The Landing.
Seeing the room packed was an incredible feeling. We had spent so many days preparing that spaceâsometimes wondering, âAre we crazy?â
But in that moment, it was all worth it.
Iâm so excited that theyâre coming back! This time, however, theyâre coming to the Port of Burlington.
More space. More people. More impact.
A few years ago, we gathered with a team of leaders and intercessors for a prayer strike throughout Burlington. We ended at the Port of Burlingtonâand now, weâre returning there.
When my friend Krista Francis came into Iowa, she saw one of our âFields of Opportunitiesâ signs and creatively broke down the word like this:
OPâPORTâUNITY
Operation. Port. Unity.
âMove or operate toward the port in unity.â
Although this is a creative wordplay rather than the literal origin of âopportunity,â it feels beautifully fitting for this moment. Even the wordâs true origin carries the image of favorable winds guiding a ship toward port.
I believe the wind is favorable.
The moment is opportune.
Itâs time to move toward the Port as one.
Letâs gather in unity and believe for the Kingdom of God to advance in incredible ways throughout Burlington.
We are a city of refuge.
We are a city of firsts.
We are a city of fruitfulness.
In the past, Burlington experienced tremendous economic growth. People connected to our city built and produced incredible things, leaving a legacy that extended far beyond Iowaâeven helping preserve and donate the land in Colorado Springs now known as the Garden of the Gods.
I believe we are going to see both spiritual and economic revival in our cityâand dare I say, it will be greater than what we experienced in the past?
Yep, I said it.
Burlington will experience a super bloom. đ¸
A landscape can appear dead and barrenâbut then the rain comes. Almost overnight, everything looks different. What appeared lifeless becomes filled with color, beauty, and vibrancy.
We carry living water.
Letâs water the dry ground and watch the dormant seeds begin to blossom.
⨠From fields of opportunity to freedom to flourish, my friends. â¨
