Happy Homecoming, everyone!

I can’t believe that a year has gone by already.

One of the things I’ve learned during pastoral ministry, is to actively be present with people and to truly enjoy them. As I prepare to shift from pastoral ministry to chaplain work, I hope to apply what I’ve learned and strengthen my ministry of presence.

Tomorrow will be my last Sunday at Yadkin United Church. I start a one-year Chaplain Residency at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN in a few weeks. And who knows where God will lead me next as I apply for a Chaplain job. This departure from Yadkin and living in this area is bittersweet for me. I’ve learned so much about pastoring, counseling, preaching, and teaching from Yadkin and my Seminary studies at Hood Theological Seminary. I’ve grown spiritually, learned how and when to implement new faith formation practices, and become a more effective minister/preacher. I will miss this young sweet girl pictured with me (photobombing at its finest); she was an awesome participant and leader during my Children’s Church Messages and beyond. We must continue to sow Christ-like virtues into our youth.

I probably should mention that I’ll miss everyone else at Yadkin too! Lol. Love you all (members/associate members) and will miss you.
