The Office of the Presiding Bishop is pleased to announce that Bishop Dr. Tim Harper will serve as the speaker for the Thursday morning session of the 103rd International Assembly.
Dr. Harper currently serves as the regional bishop for the Great Lakes region, faithfully leading ministries across Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin since 2004. His lifelong commitment to Christ and the Church began at an early age, answering the call to ministry as a teenager and serving in various roles including pastor, youth director, and now regional bishop.
A respected leader, scholar, and teacher, Dr. Harper holds five graduate degrees, including a PhD in World Religions with a concentration in Islamic Studies, and has contributed extensively to theological education, leadership development, and pastoral ministry. He currently serves on the Bible Doctrine and Polity Committee and has played a significant role in shaping leadership initiatives across North America and beyond.
In addition to his ministry leadership, Dr. Harper brings a unique perspective through his experience as a licensed psychotherapist and Healthy Congregations facilitator, equipping leaders and churches toward greater health and effectiveness.
He is also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose life reflects a deep commitment to both family and faith. Join us Thursday morning as we hear from this seasoned leader and servant of God.
The 103rd International Assembly will be held July 15-19, 2026 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida. To learn more, visit cogopassembly.org.
