When things are uncomfortable, we can misinterpret an act of God as the enemy coming against our plans and purposes. We end up praying against the very thing that God has sent to save us from really bad consequences.

From the last message at The Gathering “Donkey talk”

Scripture focus:

“So Balaam rose in the morning, saddled his donkey, and went with the princes of Moab. Then God’s anger was aroused because he went, and the Angel of the Lord took His stand in the way as an adversary against him. And he was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him. Now the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand, and the donkey turned aside out of the way and went into the field. So Balaam struck the donkey to turn her back onto the road. Then the Angel of the Lord stood in a narrow path between the vineyards, with a wall on this side and a wall on that side. And when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord, she pushed herself against the wall and crushed Balaam’s foot against the wall; so he struck her again. Then the Angel of the Lord went further, and stood in a narrow place where there was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left. And when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam’s anger was aroused, and he struck the donkey with his staff. Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?” And Balaam said to the donkey, “Because you have abused me. I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would kill you!” So the donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden, ever since I became yours, to this day? Was I ever disposed to do this to you?” And he said, “No.” Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand; and he bowed his head and fell flat on his face. And the Angel of the Lord said to him, “Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out to stand against you, because your way is perverse before Me. The donkey saw Me and turned aside from Me these three times. If she had not turned aside from Me, surely I would also have killed you by now, and let her live.””

This Sunday, May 17th at 10:30am at The Gathering!

Pastor John will be sharing a message called “Bring an Empty Vessel.” Sometimes all God asks of us is to simply come.

If you’ve been running on empty, carrying a lot, or just needing a place to reconnect and be refreshed, we’d love for you to join us.

And as always, we’ll share a meal together after service. Come hungry!

This Sunday at The Gathering, we’ll be singing a new song called Echo Holy together and I wanted to share the song with you and a little of the heart behind it.

In Revelation 4, we see a glimpse of heaven where the living creatures never stop declaring, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty.” This isn’t just a moment, it’s an unending reality. Heaven is constantly filled with the truth of who God is.

When we sing Echo Holy, we’re not trying to create something new. We’re joining in something that’s already happening. We’re echoing the sound of heaven. It’s a reminder that worship isn’t about preference or performance, but about responding to the holiness of God.

My prayer for Sunday is simple: that we would become more aware of His holiness, that our hearts would align with heaven and Echo, Holy is The Lord.

“And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!””
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Excited to see you on Sunday!

Hey friends!

We’re gathering again this Sunday, April 19th at 10:30am

Nothing fancy. Just real people showing up, worshiping together, and making space for what God wants to do. Some weeks are full, some feel heavy, and some just feel ordinary… wherever you’re at, you’re welcome in the middle of it.

If you’ve been meaning to come, this is a good Sunday to start.

Come join us. We’d love to see you.

This Sunday, we celebrate what changed everything.

Easter reminds us that hope is not distant or fragile. It’s alive and present with us. Our service begins at 10:30am, and Pastor John will be sharing a message called “The Great Exchange.”

If you’re able, we’d love to have you stay after the service where we’ll enjoy a delicious meal together. If you have a favorite dessert, we’d love to have you bring some to share!

Catch up post….

As we look back over so many moments from past services at The Gathering, our hearts are full.

We are deeply grateful to God for what He is doing in our church family! For lives being touched, hearts being softened, faith being strengthened, and the steady, faithful work of the Holy Spirit in our midst.

Every prayer, every song, every testimony, every quiet moment in His presence matters.

We thank God for all He has already done… and we look forward with expectancy to what is still ahead.

Here’s to all the moments behind us and to the beautiful work God is continuing to build among us at The Gathering.
