I have been moved into the new rectory since August 7th and I am so grateful for the lovely house. I thank the parishioners of St. Christopher parish who donated to the capital campaign to make this a reality. I also thank the rectory team who worked hard on this project. The weekend of September 12th and 13th there will be an open house. After each weekend Mass parishioners are invited to walk over to the new rectory and walk through it. The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is this Saturday, August 15th. Since it occurs on Saturday it is not a holy day of obligation. We will celebrate this with a Mass on Saturday, August 15th at 9am.

Happy Independence Day! As we celebrate our nation’s birthday, let’s give thanks to God for our rights to life and liberty. While we enjoy fireworks and family, pray for peace, unity, and healing in our land.

I am attending the Archdiocesan Priesthood convocation this week. I connect with my brother priests. We pray together and enjoy some wonderful talks from our speaker as well as the Archbishop. I wanted to share with you my Mass intentions for the Masses I concelebrate this week: Tuesday for the sponsors of our parish festival, Wednesday for the festival team and the volunteers and Thursday for the parishioners of St. Christopher whom I am privileged to serve as pastor. Calling all bakers!!! We sold out of desserts today!!! If you are willing to bake a delicious cake or pie for the festival, please bring it tomorrow after 10 am to the cafeteria in the school basement. 🍰
