Sometimes the moments that change us most are the ones we didn’t plan for.

On this year’s Guatemala mission trip with COTW members, our team discovered that living on mission isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes it looks like slowing down long enough to notice where God is already at work.

From reconnecting with old friends to learning how to make tortillas in someone’s home, or simply sitting, listening, and being present, this trip became a reminder that interruptions are often where ministry begins.

This month, thirty LIFT students flew to Guatemala ready to serve alongside Students International Guatemala . They arrived in Magdalena with open hands, prepared to give, help, and make a difference. But throughout their experience, something shifted.

In host homes, around dinner tables, and on dusty soccer fields, they began to realize they weren't just serving. They were being welcomed, cared for, and changed.

They came eager to give. The Lord had even more planned.

🌱Here at COTW, we enjoy seeing so many of you consistently growing in your faith!

Today's behind-the-scenes moment comes from Hannah, who has been blessed by this semester's online Bible study with GOD of the WORD. Her mom, Rebecca, is one of the group leaders, and she’s reconnected with a childhood friend (Gretchen) from Tapawingo with whom she’s stayed in touch for years! We love hearing stories like this.

Here's what Hannah says about her experience:

"The GOD of the WORD ‘Gospels’ study has been an eye-opening experience into the teachings and promises of Jesus. I have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the Word in more depth with the thought-provoking questions from this study. It is a blessing to be able to strengthen my faith and have meaningful discussions with other women on the same journey, who lift me up continuously in prayer. I encourage anyone of any age to take the step and join our Acts I study starting this fall! It’s never too late to begin or continue your walk with the Lord."

Easter isn’t just a moment we celebrate; it’s a place we’re invited to live.
Because Jesus is alive, we don’t just visit hope… we dwell in it.

This Easter, we’re reminded:
God isn’t distant.
He’s present.
He’s with us.
He’s inviting us to remain in Him.
A living Savior means a living relationship.
A living hope.
A place to dwell.

For over 10 years, Ann has been bringing students from the Church of the Holy Spirit in Gloversville, NY to CAMP-of-the-WOODS. Once they started coming, they never stopped.

They were searching for meaningful space and an environment that fostered connection and spiritual growth. “We just wanted things to run more smoothly,” she shares, “so the kids could actually have the experiences they needed to get to know God.”

And this year… this hope was realized.

Students didn’t want to leave.
They were drawn to worship and prayer.
Kids from six different schools became “framily.”

Life had been busy for Katie Gonzalez and her family.

“We’ve been adjusting to being a family of five, and there always seems to be something going on.”

For years, she had heard about Presidents’ Day Weekend at COTW from her cousin, but this year something unexpected happened ➡️ their schedules opened up… and a room in Purdy became available the very same day.

❤️It also happened to be their 12th wedding anniversary!

What followed was a weekend of rock wall courage, snowy evening laughter, and a quiet moment watching her boys play, where Katie found herself thanking God for the gift of family.

“Having time to slow down and do things with my family was such a gift.”
