Central Church of Christ Central Church of Christ - Loving God & Loving others we will reach our world for Jesus Christ

Established more than fifty years ago Central Church of Christ has been dedicated to the mission of saving the lost. The desire of our heart is to honor God in our worship and teaching, service and outreach by welcoming, loving and making disciples of all the people He places in our care. We believe that all Churches of Christ are independent and can govern themselves therefore there is no nationa

l headquarters. Our leadership consists of Elders who meet the qualifications set forth by the Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy. These men provide the โ€œshepherdingโ€ (care and oversight) of the โ€œflockโ€ (members) as well as make decisions of finance. No matter who you are EVERYONE is welcome at Central, if you are looking for a church home or just visiting the area we would be most honored to have you worship with us!

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." - Isaiah 40:31

This past Sunday, Ernie taught from Isaiah and reminded us that trusting God in a noisy, distracted world is one of the most important things we can do.

Summer is here, screens are everywhere, and the pace of life doesn't always slow down the way we hope it will. But Isaiah's message cuts through the noise: God is faithful. He was faithful then, and He is faithful now.

In a world full of distractions, where are you choosing to anchor your hope?

This Sunday, Ernie will be teaching from the book of Isaiah in a message called "Hopeful Souls: Trusting God Through Summer Distractions in a Digital World."

Summer has a way of pulling our attention in a thousand directions. Longer days, busier schedules, screens competing for every spare moment. It's easy to let our time with God get crowded out by everything else vying for our focus.

But Isaiah's words were written to people living in uncertain, distracted, overwhelming times, and God's message to them was the same as it is to us: trust Me. Hope in Me. I am still at work.

Join us Sunday at 9:00 AM for Bible Study, 9:45 AM for coffee and fellowship, and 10:15 AM for worship (in person or streaming online).

We'd love to see you there this summer. ๐Ÿ’™

What if the thing you think disqualifies you from serving is actually exactly what God wants to use?

This past Sunday, Michael taught from Nehemiah 3, Ephesians 4, and Luke 4, and the message was clear: God doesn't build His kingdom with a handful of superstars. He builds it with ordinary people who show up faithfully and do their part.

In Nehemiah 3, everyone had a section of the wall to rebuild. Priests, merchants, rulers, perfume makers. None of it was glamorous. All of it was necessary.

That's still how God works today.

Your gifts, your time, your presence, your faithfulness in the small thingsโ€”it all fits into something bigger than you can see from where you're standing. The body grows when every part does its work.

Don't sit this one out. The wall needs your section. ๐Ÿ’™

The full sermon is available on our YouTube channel. Share it with someone who needs to be reminded that they have a part to play.

"From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work." - Ephesians 4:16

This past Sunday, Michael reminded us that the body of Christ only functions the way God designed it when every part is doing its work.

Not just the visible parts. Not just the up-front roles. Every act of service, every quiet faithfulness, every person who shows up and gives what they have, it all matters. When one part is missing, the whole body feels it.

You are not a spectator. You are a necessary piece of what God is building here.

๐Ÿ’ญ What part are you playing in the body of Christ today?

What does it mean to welcome children? And why is it so central to what it means to follow Jesus?

This past Sunday, JD unpacked Mark 9 and gave us something worth sitting with. Children remind us of who we are before God. They're still learning, still growing, still developing. They're not yet wise or knowledgeable in the way adults are. And that's exactly why Jesus placed a child in the center of the room.

Because that's us before God.

The wisest person who ever lived doesn't come close to the wisdom of God. The most knowledgeable mind in all of creation doesn't hold a candle to what God knows. We are so much closer to children than we are to God, and yet He calls us His own.

That's not a humiliation. That's grace.

When we welcome children, we're reminded of our own dependence on a Father who is infinitely wiser, infinitely greater, and infinitely more loving than we can comprehend.

If you missed Sunday's message, the full sermon is available on our YouTube channel. Share it with someone who needs to be reminded of how much God loves His children. ๐Ÿ’™

Look at these incredible kids! ๐Ÿ’™

As we celebrate Promotion Sunday, watching our children take their next step in faith was one of the sweetest moments of the year. From the littlest ones in their first class to the ones stepping into a brand new grade level, every single one of them is growing in their knowledge and love of Jesus.

But moments like this don't happen without the people who show up every single Sunday to make it possible.

To our Kidz Central teachers and volunteers: thank you. You prepare lessons, you learn names, you pray for these kids, and you pour your hearts into making sure every child who walks through those doors knows they are loved by God and loved by this church family. Your faithfulness is shaping the next generation in ways you may not fully see this side of heaven.

We are so grateful for you.

To all the families who celebrated with us today: watching your children grow in faith is one of our greatest joys. Thank you for trusting us to walk alongside them. ๐Ÿ™

This Sunday is extra special, and we don't want you to miss it! ๐Ÿ’™

It's Promotion Sunday, the day our kids officially move up to their next grade level classes. Watching our children grow in faith year after year is one of the greatest joys of our church family, and this Sunday we get to celebrate that together.

We'll also be highlighting Palmetto Bible Camp, an incredible ministry that has shaped the faith of countless young people across our fellowship. If you or someone you love has ever been to PBC, whether for summer camp or men's, women's, and single's retreats, you know the impact it makes. Lives are changed at camp, and we're excited to share what God is doing there.

Come celebrate with us Sunday:
Bible Study at 9:00 AM
Coffee & Fellowship at 9:45 AM
Worship at 10:10 AM (in person or streaming online)

Bring your family. Bring your kids. Come cheer on the next generation as they take their next step in faith. We'd love to see you there! ๐Ÿ’™

Will I be faithful? That's the question echoing from Hebrews 11 this Memorial Day weekend. As we honor those who gave their lives in service, we're reminded of an even greater cloud of witnesses. Heroes of faith who've gone before us, cheering us on.

Faith isn't measured by worldly success or comfort. Sometimes faith leads to victory, sometimes to suffering. But here's the truth: we're not judged by results. We're commended for our faith. Abel, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and countless others never saw the promise fulfilled in their lifetime, yet they remained faithful, looking beyond this life to something better.

Now it's our turn to carry their load. Fix your eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith, who endured the cross for the joy set before Him. The race is marked out. The witnesses are cheering. The question remains: will you be faithful?

Ian explores Luke 10, where Jesus sent out 72 ordinary followers. Not the inner circle, but people just like us. His instructions? Go like lambs among wolves. Take nothing. Trust completely. The mission wasn't about being impressive; it was about being obedient.

Here's the truth: You're not defined by what you do, but by who Jesus says you are. Your identity isn't in your impact, it's in Him. When Isaiah heard God's call, he responded, ""Here I am. Send me."" What will your response be?

Whether you're graduating, working, raising kids, or retired, you have a mission field. Jesus never intended for living on mission to be a solo project. Find your community. Live sent. Be His ambassador."
