Today we gathered to celebrate the life of.
Rev. Dr. James “Jim” Rentz beloved pastor, teacher, father, friend, and faithful servant of Christ.

For more than forty years, Jim was part of the Fernwood family, and his life and ministry touched countless people. We are grateful for his wisdom, his stories, his laughter, and, most of all, his faithful example of what it means to serve God and others.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”

We give thanks to God for the life and legacy of Jim Rentz.

Faith Initiative Quarterly Meeting

12:30-1:15pm: Faith Initiative Continuous Improvement Report: program updates & new data to guide us
1:15-2:00pm: Dialogue on strategies to push us further
2:00-3:00pm: Training

All are welcome! This summer the Faith Initiative has been digging into data and strategy with the Continuous Improvement team at Spartanburg Academic Movement to push us further in our work. We are looking deeper, asking harder questions about reality on the ground and what we can do about it, and thinking about what strategies will do the most to alleviate poverty for the children and families of Spartanburg County. We are stretching from how much we do, beyond how well we do, to how we can help everyone live better. Come hear a report on this summer research and share your insight to guide us forward. it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved church member, Rev Dr Jim Rentz. He was a loving father, husband, and a great man of faith. He will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, August 19, at 11:00 AM at Fernwood Baptist Church.
