Sunday Evening at our new building was amazing! Here’s the back story.
One evening in July 2024, our SALT group (senior adult ministry) was gathering in the church where we rent. Our dear friend, Cooter came in very emotional, walked past where we were gathering, and went to the altar where he laid prostrate and cried. When he came back up the aisle I asked if he was okay and he responded, “No, I’m not okay. I miss having a key to our church so that I can go lay on the altar anytime I want to and cry out for my family. I miss having our own place. I miss having a key.” Immediately our fundraising slogan became, “Cooter Needs A Key!” Sunday night we had a Cooter Gets A Key celebration in our beautiful unfinished worship center! It was symbolic of course as we only have one door currently, but our guys installed a door k**b so we could celebrate. We also wrote scripture and prayers on the wall studs. What a sweet evening. We couldn’t love our new building more! Thank you Carpenters For Christ!!
