Gnats, Camels, and Blind Spots
Matthew 23:23–24

Sometimes we strain out the gnat while swallowing the camel. We can become very good at noticing what is wrong in others while justifying what we excuse in ourselves. Judging ourselves by our intentions and everyone else by their actions!

Jesus calls us back to the weightier matters—justice, mercy, and faithfulness—and invites us to examine our own hearts with humility.

Come join us today as we look at what it means to follow Christ with truth, grace, and honesty.

THE VOICE OVER THE FEELING- by Pastor Cathcart
Isaac faced a conflict: voice vs feeling
— The voice is Jacob’s… — truth, discernment, what he heard
— The hands are Esau’s… — what he felt, natural senses
👉 Isaac chose to trust his sense of touch instead of the voice.
Sometimes what we feel can deceive us, even when we already recognize the truth.
Feelings can mislead—but God’s voice is true!

👉 Isaac leaned on what he could physically confirm instead of what he spiritually discerned.
God’s people are called to follow His voice

John 10:27
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

Jeremiah 17:9
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

Proverbs 3:5–6
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding…”

👉 Don’t let what you feel override what God has said.

In Jeremiah 2:13, God describes His people trading the fountain of living waters for broken, man-made cisterns carved from stone—hard work that still leaves them empty.
We still do the same today.
Why settle for what leaks… when God offers what flows?
