1 Kings 19:11-13
New King James Version
God’s Revelation to Elijah
11 Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.
13 So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
This morning, as I was going outside from taking some medicine in my bedroom, I was passing the dining room table and I felt in my spirit to take some paper towels with me. So I came outside, went to sit down and my leg jiggled the table and splooshed my coffee I had everywhere!
So in the midst of cleaning it up I said, "TY Holy Spirit for quickening me to get some paper towels. Father You knew beforehand this was gonna happen!" And he said to me, "ALWAYS listen to my still, small voice!"
In the scripture above, Elijah was fleeing the evil Queen Jezebel after Elijah executed the prophets of Baal (the god of Ahab and Jezebel) (1 Kings chapter 18). She became enraged and sought to kill Elijah. The Father saw this and instructed Elijah to go to the top of the mountain. Suddenly an earthquake happens, but God was not IN the earthquake. Then a fire happens but God was not IN the fire. Then after the fire came His still small voice asking Elijah, "What are you doing here?"
When the enemy sees you praising, worshipping, praying, reading your Bible, and living out the Bible Satan will send an earthquake to shake up your life -- but remember, God is not in the earthquake. And if the earthquake doesn't shake you, Satan will send his fire to singe your life -- burning friendships family and friends relationships, change in attitude, burning employment, and most of all burning your relationship with God!
But when you stay attuned to His still small voice and allow God to be God in your life, you will conquer every trial and mountain in life with Father God at the helm! Remember in Philippians chapter 2 it says, " At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord of all!"
