It is indeed a sad day for our church family at Hickory Valley Methodist and Presbyterian Church. Our Cumberland Presbyterian minister, Richard Bond, has fought his final battle, and in Jesus, the victory has been won. Bro. Bond was our minister at Hickory Valley for 33 years. He was a man of God who was not only a blessing to those in his congregations, but to all he met. Bro. Bond was a great pastor, friend, and encourager. He will be greatly missed, but we are comforted in knowing that he has attained his eternal reward. Our heartfelt condolences to Marie, Rick, and all of his family.

JM Passons will be making another Disaster Relief trip to east Tennessee this coming weekend (October 11th or 12th). The following is a list of items that the organizers on the ground there have requested:
Propane
Dog and Cat food
Protein shakes
Pediasure
Peanut butter
Protein bars
Gum and candy (to help folks feel loved and human)
Small toys, coloring books, crayons
Gas
Gas cards
Gas cans
Extension cords
Work gloves
Antibiotic ointment
Heavy work socks
Muck boots
Benadryl - any form- chewable, pill, liquid
Hydrocortisone Cream
Batteries - all sizes
Flashlights
Watches (for telling time to take meds)
Generators
Chainsaws
Oil for generators and chainsaws
Chains for chainsaws
Feminine products
Vanilla extract (for formula)
Formula
Diapers and wipes
Fixodent
Denture toothpaste and toothbrushes
Insulin
Chicken feed
Horse feed
Adult diapers
Toboggans, gloves, hoodies, sweatshirts

Dropoff points for donations are:
Payless Pharmacy (Kim Dunham)
Courthouse Trustee office (Kathryn Adcock)
Physical Therapy at WC hospital (Jennifer Passons)

All dropoffs should be made by noon on Thursday, October 10th.
