Today our group tackled several projects at Washington-Marion Magnet High School here in Lake Charles. Projects included: power washing around the campus, picking up litter, weeding flower beds, painting, & putting together exercise equipment. After dinner, some members of the team enjoyed geocaching while others enjoyed playing cards.

The team had a full day today. This morning we helped with a variety of tasks CARC Treasures Thrift Store. The store helps train & employ people with a variety of disabilities. We then enjoyed lunch at University Park. Next, we returned to our home base, Mount Olive - The Nest, where we helped paint, spruced up the landscape, & replaced some ceiling tiles. Since it was a warm day, we went to Millennium Park to hand out bottles of cold water & we prayed with many of those we met. After dinner, we had an opportunity to assist Second Harvest fill nearly 300 meals for senior citizens in the area.

Our first full day in Lake Charles began with Sunday School & worship Mount Olive - The Nest. We enjoyed pizza from Little Ceasars for lunch. After some free time, we headed to Orange, Texas for a swamp tour. The group enjoyed dinner at Tad's Louisiana Cooking before heading back to hear about our plans for tomorrow.

Yesterday, our team traveled just a bit over 12 hours to reach Lake Charles, LA. Upon arrival we were greeted by the team from Praying Pelican Missions & Pastor Braylon of Mount Olive - The Nest. Pastor prepared gumbo for supper for our group. Then some of the team enjoyed a variety of activities in the gym.
