Have you ever stopped and seriously asked yourself, “Why am I allowed into heaven?”

There are a lot of answers people give. Some say, “I’m a good person.” Others say, “I go to church.” Some point to the good things they’ve done, their faith, their giving, or their religious life.

But what does Jesus say?

In Luke 23, we see two criminals hanging on crosses beside Jesus. Both were close to Him. Both heard Him. Both saw what was happening. But only one recognized his need for mercy and put his faith in Jesus.

The question isn't simply “Do you know about Jesus?”

The question is:

👉 Does Jesus know you?
👉 Have you truly repented and believed?
👉 Is Jesus LORD of your life, or is He just your “genie in a bottle”?
👉 Are you trusting what YOU have done, or what HE has done?

We don't get into heaven because we're good enough.
We don't get into heaven because we went to church.
We don't get into heaven because of our works.

We get into heaven BECAUSE HE DID.

The only proper answer to the question, “Why are you allowed into heaven?” is not “because I…”

It's “BECAUSE HE.”

Because the man on the middle cross told me I could come!

This message challenges every believer to examine their faith, their repentance, and their surrender to Jesus Christ as LORD—and then take the Gospel to someone else.

❤️ Don't just know about Jesus. Know Jesus. And make sure He knows you.

Big Idea:
Every believer can explain to at least one person that only through repentance and belief on Jesus Christ as LORD may we have entrance into heaven.

Why are YOU allowed into heaven?

Don't just answer it in your head. Let it search your heart.

Everyone of us has heard to be humble, that we must humble ourselves, that we are to walk in humility but what does that look like? Humility is something that’s not easy to do but it’s something vital that the Lord has told us to walk in. The question is how do we do that? We do it by His very example and our heart being in line with His. Allowing him to transform us to be like Christ. What happens when pride causes us to forget who we are, where we came from, and—most importantly—Who called us?

As we close out our “Amos: God’s Holy Justice” series, we turn to Amos 7:10-17 and the confrontation between the prophet Amos and Amaziah, the priest of Bethel.

Amaziah was more concerned about protecting his position than obeying God. Amos was more concerned about obeying God than protecting his position.

And the question for us is simple:

Are we willing to let God’s Word expose the pride in our lives?

God’s Holy Justice doesn't just expose sin—it calls us to humility, surrender, obedience, and boldness.

Remember where you came from.
Remember who called you.
Remember who brought you this far.
And surrender it back to Him.
