On Saturday, December 4th Our Lady of the Lake, with the aid of our Confirmation and local high school students, will bring “Christ in Christmas” to life. This event in the spirit of the true meaning of Christmas, brings together young children ages 5 through 10 to build Teddy Bears for the children in homeless shelters in the Sussex County area. This year the bears will be donated to our 200 families currently resident at homeless shelters in Sussex County. We invite you to join us in McKenna Hall from 2-3:30 PM, as a parish family for Christmas cheer and spirit.

Due to the uncertainty of the presence of Covid-19 as we go into the Winter season, it is with a heavy heart that 2020 Christ in Christmas will be canceled. The vulnerable in our community is our priority.

Hello all, without a bit of publicity we already have 88 young children attending. The goal is to fill the room with over 150 attendees and to make 250 bears this year. We begin publicity in our community in one week's time. Can we make this happen?

Come Join Us on Saturday, December 7th, at 3 pm as our Children's Choir raise their voices in our 10th anniversary celebratory thanksgiving show for the wonderful children and their families that have helped us make bears for the past 10th years.

Thank you for your interest in Christ in Christmas. This year is a special year for us, our 10th anniversary of providing handmade 15" Teddy Bears to young children in homeless shelters. Last year we began to make these bears also for our elderly members of the Sparta Community living in assisted living facilities. We plan to do this again this year.

Christmas Spirit Magic at Our Lady of the Lake Church

On Saturday, December 7th Our Lady of the Lake CIC Committee, with the aid of Our Lady of the Lake Confirmation, and our local High School’s students, will bring “Christ in Christmas” to life. This event, in the spirit of the true meaning of Christmas, brings together young children ages 5 through 10 and teens to build Teddy Bears for the children in homeless shelters in the Sussex County area. This year the bears will be donated to the over 140 families currently resident at the homeless shelters in Sussex County. The children will place hearts into the bears they make, and give them one final hug and kiss before placing them on a table to be blessed by Father David McDonnell. Following the blessing of the bears, the children will be thanked with a musical program given by our OLL Confirmation and HS students that includes Christmas carols, hot chocolate, and dessert. Christ in Christmas concludes with a visit from Santa Claus. Santa will ask the children to pack his sack with the bears so that he could take them over to the homeless shelters.
