⚾️🎆 Faith Night at the Reno Aces was a blast! 🎆⚾️

Nearly 100 members and friends of St. Paul’s gathered at the ballpark for an evening of fun, fellowship, and baseball. We enjoyed great company, a thrilling game, and a dramatic 11th-inning Aces victory over the Sacramento River Cats. We’re convinced our prayers may have helped! 😊

The night ended with a spectacular fireworks show and plenty of happy memories. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a special evening. We love opportunities to gather, laugh, and enjoy life together as a church family.

A couple of weeks ago, the Episcopal Church Women hosted a beautiful tea at St. Paul’s. The room was filled with laughter, lively conversation, and excellent sandwiches. It was one of those gatherings that reminds you how meaningful it is to simply sit, share, and enjoy one another.

This Earth Day, we’re seeing our home a little differently.

Artemis II Pilot Victor Glover shared this reflection from space:
“We’re in a spaceship really far from Earth… but you’re on a spaceship called Earth.”

From that distance, there are no divisions—just oceans, land, clouds, and life. Just one shared home.

Scripture tells us that creation is good. Science shows us just how rare and complex it is. And from space, you can see what’s at stake.

So this Earth Day, we’re asking a simple question: How are we caring for the “spaceship” we’ve been given?

At St. Paul’s, we’re committing to small, real steps—reducing waste, deepening our connection to creation, and learning together what it means to be people of care, not consumption.

Because this planet isn’t just where we live. It’s our responsibility.

Happy Earth Day. 🌎 Let’s take care of home.

We are delighted to announce the Rev. Hannah Wilder accepted the call of the Bishop, in cooperation with the Vestry of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Sparks, to be their new rector!

Mother Hannah comes to us from St. Mary’s-in-the-Valley in Ramona, California, where she's been serving since November 2022. In that role, she led a ministry centered on deep community engagement, creative and reverent worship, and the formation of a town-wide youth ministry in partnership with other local churches. Mother Hannah brings a rare blend of communications expertise, warmth, creativity, and bold, servant-hearted leadership. She grounds her work in a deep love for The Episcopal Church and its ancient traditions and lives out a clear passion for following Jesus with a strong commitment to social justice, pastoral care, and joyful worship.

Mother Hannah draws strength from the mystical path and from spiritual practices that shape daily life, including the Daily Office from the Book of Common Prayer and the rhythms of the church year. She looks forward to building strong relationships and vibrant community in the Reno–Sparks area while worshiping God with joy, curiosity, and a sense of holy play.

Mother Hannah graduated from the San Diego theological formation program in 2019. Before entering parish ministry, she spent more than thirteen years as communications officer for the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego and remains well connected throughout the wider Church.

Mother Hannah’s wife, Dr. Kathy Wilder, has served for eight years as executive director of Camp Stevens and earned her doctorate in organizational leadership in 2024. They have one son, Owen, a structural engineer who lives in Santa Rosa. Their family also includes two dogs, Coco and Bear, and a cat named Arya. They enjoy time outdoors, reading, good conversation, shared laughter, and deep relationships. They feel grateful for the call to St. Paul’s and look forward to meeting the people of this community.
