Uniform Closet at Spanish Fort UMC The Uniform Closet at Spanish Fort UMC distributes school uniform clothing and school supply bags to any and all school aged children in Baldwin County.

The Uniform Closet at Spanish Fort United Methodist Church started in 2007 as a year-round outreach progam to serve any and all children in Baldwin County, Alabama. In 2013, we distributed more than 2000 uniform pieces and more than 400 school supply bags to Baldwin County children. We welcome donations of uniform items, as well as monetary donations to purchase school supplies. Uniform items can

be dropped off at the Spanish Fort United Methodist Church office. Checks can be made payable to SFUMC with a designation to Uniform Closet. Please contact Kathryn Giles at [email protected] or 251-402-7567.

UNIFORM CLOSET CLOSING PERMANENTLY

For nearly two decades, the SFUMC Uniform Closet has existed to help students in our Baldwin County schools. Our church and its volunteers serve our community and our neighbors by providing uniforms to children in preschool and students through high school.

School uniform policies in the Baldwin County School District have also changed over the years. Students in middle school and high school are no longer required to wear uniforms. As a result, we have seen a dramatic decline in requests for uniforms. (Most schools also now have a “uniform closet” on their premises).
With heavy hearts, we will be closing our Uniform Closet to the public effective January 31, 2023.

Our church wide outreach will focus on a yearly School Supply Drive and Give Away. We will collaborate with Prodisee Pantry to help meet the need for school supplies of underprivileged school children.

We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to our church family for your generosity over the years, to our volunteers who worked tirelessly sorting and issuing uniforms and devoting your time during our annual Open House and to our church staff who step in to issue uniforms as needed. UNIFORM CLOSET CLOSING PERMANENTLY

Come go to school with us! SFUMP will have Registration for the 2023-2024 School Year in January 2023. The dates for Preschool Registration for the 2023-2024 school year have been set and are as follows:

Monday, January 23, 2023 – current SFUMP families
Tuesday, January 24, 2023 – current SFUMP families
Wednesday, January 25, 2023 – SFUMC families and current waitlist families
Thursday, January 26, 2023 – Open to the public

Registration on January 25-26 will be held in the Fellowship Hall starting at 9:30am.

UNIFORM CLOSET REOPENS TODAY | August 2 | 9:00 a.m. | West Campus | Uniform Closet | The Uniform Closet will be open on the first Tuesday of each month beginning August 2 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. We are also in need of clean uniform items in good condition, particularly boys Size 7-8 (medium), Size 10-12 (large), & Size 14-16 (XL). If you have uniform donations or returns, you can drop them off at the church office during regularly scheduled office hours.
