Tonight was one for the books! ❤️

We had the privilege of serving an incredible number of our unhoused neighbors tonight, providing hot meals, prayer, encouragement, and connecting people with housing resources through some amazing community partnerships.

Now, for the funny part…

During our entire outreach, a neighbor across the street decided to bless us with an hour and a half of Baby Shark playing through some very enthusiastic speakers. 🦈🎶😂

To the gentleman playing Baby Shark: God bless you. We actually love that song. With six kids in our family, we’ve heard it approximately 47 million times and can practically perform it from memory. Some of our volunteers were trying not to laugh the whole time.

In all seriousness, we understand that outreach can sometimes create concerns for nearby residents. We want our community to know that we’re not here to create chaos or problems. We’re here to love people, help connect them to resources, and be part of making our community stronger for everyone including our unhoused neighbors, business owners, and local residents.

We choose grace. We choose kindness. And tonight, we chose to serve people while listening to Baby Shark on repeat. 😄

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, prayed, and helped make tonight possible. Every meal served and every resource shared is another opportunity to remind someone that they matter.

And yes… Baby Shark may now be permanently stuck in our heads. 🦈❤️

Tonight, we walked the streets of Tacoma handing out bottled water, checking on people, praying with the hurting, and reminding our unhoused neighbors that they are NOT forgotten.

This is what being the Church looks like.
Not just sitting inside four walls…
but being BOOTS ON THE GROUND.

Every bottle of water, every prayer, every conversation matters more than people realize. Sometimes people don’t just need resources they need someone willing to stop, listen, and care.

Every night we go out into our unhoused community, one of the biggest needs we see is hygiene items. Something as simple as soap, deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, socks, wipes, razors, and toothbrushes can restore dignity and remind someone they are seen and loved. ❤️

Feminine hygiene products are especially a huge need for the women we serve. Many women are struggling silently without access to basic necessities most of us take for granted.

We cannot continue this mission without the support of our community. We are asking for help with supplies through our Amazon wishlist so we can continue building hygiene kits for those living on the streets, in tents, cars, and shelters.

Every donation matters. Every item helps. Every act of kindness makes a difference.

Sunday outreach was absolutely beautiful. ❤️ Tonight reminded us why we do what we do. We fed so many people in our unhoused community that we honestly lost count..but what we didn’t lose sight of was the smiles, the gratitude, the prayers, and the hope being poured out.

This ministry is making a real difference right here in Pierce County, but we cannot do it alone. We need our community. We need people who believe that every life matters. We need your prayers, your support, and your partnership to help us continue reaching those who feel forgotten.

Tonight in the pouring rain here in Pierce County, our team at Misfits Ministries showed up once again for our unhoused community. Under the warmth of our tent heaters, we served hot spaghetti, Caesar salad, and something even greater love, dignity, and hope. Despite the weather, so many came through, shared a meal, got warm, and were reminded they are not forgotten.

This is why we do what we do. But as our ministry continues to grow, so do the needs. We’re asking our community to stand with us pray for the expansion of this ministry, pray for the lives being changed on these streets, and pray for God’s direction as we continue being His hands and feet. A huge thank you to Skoolie Foundation for donating Bag of Hope bags weekly for our unhoused community. Your support is helping us reach people right here in our community and beyond and make a real difference in the lives of those who are struggling. We truly appreciate your generosity and your heart for serving others.
