🌞 Quietside Good Morning Program Coming Soon! 🌞

The Southwest Harbor Police Department is excited to announce the upcoming launch of the Quietside Good Morning Program for residents of Southwest Harbor and Tremont.

This free and voluntary program is designed for senior citizens, adults with disabilities, and other vulnerable residents who live alone.

📞 How it works:
Monday through Friday, our officers and dispatchers will make a brief morning call to registered participants to check in and ensure they’re doing well. If we’re unable to reach someone, we’ll take additional steps to verify their safety.

📝 How to Sign Up:
Call the Southwest Harbor Police Department to provide your information or request a form to fill out. We’re happy to help get you registered.

This program is inspired by the successful “Good Morning Program” run by the Bar Harbor/Mount Desert Police Department, and we’re proud to offer a similar service to our community.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - for those traveling from north of Somesville please see the detour details below.

22nd Annual MDI Marathon Traffic Advisory for Sunday, 10/19/2025:

Please be advised that northbound traffic on Rt 102 heading toward Somesville Village will be detoured at Pretty Marsh Road from approximately 9am until 1pm.

Southbound traffic heading toward Southwest Harbor will run as normal, but could also experience delays as traffic will be detoured around the finish line / downtown area at Herrick Road.

Please plan accordingly.
