Lonesome Dove Baptist Church is made up of sinners who have been saved by the radical, amazing, overflowing grace of God. So each week we gather to worship Him and to lift high His name. By the way, we aren't concerned with what you are wearing when you join us. . .we just want you to join us. Our story began over 170 years ago. In 1844 a large wagon train full of people left Platt County, Missour

i to make a new life in the Republic of Texas. This group of pioneers settled in the "Crosstimbers" area, now known as Grapevine-Southlake. The pioneers began to meet in different homes for worship as many more settlers continued to pour into the area. On the third Saturday of February, 1846, a growing group of Christ followers met at the log cabin home of Charles Throop. There they formed the Lonesome Dove Baptist Church. At the time of its founding there were no other churches within many miles, and no other evangelical church between Grapevine-Southlake and the Pacific Ocean. We celebrate how God has used the Dove, with its rich history, to change many lives and we are excited about what He continues to do in us and through us. By the grace of God, Lonesome Dove's best days are ahead.

Our first Men of Issachar meeting was incredible!! Almost 50 men showed up and the discussion was incredible. This video is of our men singing the doxology as we closed. We love hearing a bunch of men sing to the Lord.

This morning we gathered for Sunday School, opened Galatians together, and were reminded of this simple, freeing truth: grace came first. The law was never the rescue. Jesus is.

We are grateful for a church that leans into the Word and into one another.

We’ll be back together tonight for our Family Feud/ Chili Cook-Off from 5–7pm. Can’t wait to see you again soon!

Abraham walked up the mountain without answers.
But he walked in faith.
Galatians 3 reminds us: we are made righteous by believing God.
Even when we don’t understand what He’s doing,
we can trust who He is.

We had the best Sunday with you!

We gathered for Sunday school, walked through Galatians 3 and the good news that we are justified by faith in Christ, took communion together, and then celebrated Christian and Lauren with a table shower as they prepare to welcome their baby.

Learning together. Remembering together. Rejoicing together.

Grateful for a church family that walks through every season side by side.

Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️‍🔥 We’re grateful that the Lord has placed you in our church family.

We’d love to see you tomorrow. Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:30am, and we gather for worship at 10:30am.

Come be encouraged, come worship, and come be part of what God is doing here. It really isn’t the same without you.

We don’t stay close to God by doing better.
We stay close because Jesus already did enough.
His work holds us. Not ours.

Another full Sunday together!

In Galatians 2:17–21, we were reminded that we are not made right with God by the law. Our life and righteousness are found in Christ alone as we live by faith in the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us.

We wrapped up the day with our Valentine’s Day banquet, raising support for youth camp and investing in the next generation. We are grateful for you and can’t wait to see you again next week!
