The Southington Manna Fund, Inc., is a charitable corporation founded in 2001 under the auspices of the Southington Interfaith Clergy Association (SICA). The primary mission of the Manna Fund is to provide urgently needed aid to individuals and families in Southington who have “fallen through the cracks,” and whose needs are not addressed by other governmental or charitable sources. To meet this goal, the Manna Fund has entrusted the direct administration of its resources to Southington Community Services Director, Janet Mellon. Ms. Mellon is on the front line of the battle against local hunger and homelessness. She is best able to assess both the level of need presented to her and the resources available to meet those needs. The Manna Fund depends on financial contributions from faith communities and individuals in Southington to meet these essential needs. Many thanks to the Gishrei Shalom Jewish Congregation for their collection
of 570 pounds of food! This collection was done for Rosh Hashanah and Yom
Kippur and had 100% of their congregation's participation. We are so
grateful for their support.
